🇮🇪 Dublin Airport. More Than Just an Airport.
Every day, thousands of people pass through Dublin Airport.
Some are arriving home after years away.
Some are saying to someone they love.
Some are starting a completely new chapter.
Behind every suitcase is a story.
I put together a short journey through Dublin Airport today, but this isn't really a video about an airport.
It's about home, departures, reunions, memories and the journeys that change our lives.

Red bricks, ancient doors and windows.
Still standing strong.
TALLEST BUILDINGS IN DUBLIN
To many people, the Liberty Hall (SIPTU) was the tallest building in Dublin.
Now it’s College Square at 82m
And nothing beats the Poolbeg Chimneys at 207.8m for sheer height.
You can’t live in them, but you definitely can’t miss them.
Capital Dock is there at 79 m with 23 storys of habitable structure.
It's now the second tallest after College Square

Liberty Hall, Eden Quay
You can’t miss it on the Liffey.
Built in 1965, it’s the HQ of SIPTU and stands on the site of the original Liberty Hall from the 1913 Dublin Lockout.
James Larkin and Jim Connolly walked these streets.
Today it’s home to Ireland’s largest trade union, but the building itself is part of Dublin’s labour history.
Next time you’re near Connolly Station, look up — that tower has stories.
THE CUSTOM HOUSE DUBLIN
I drifted through this area recently and I was fascinated by the grandeur of this masterpiece.
Finished in 1791 by James Gandon, it was the heart of trade and tax in Georgian Dublin.
On May 25th 1921, the IRA set it on fire to destroy British tax records.
The building burned for 5 days.
The beautiful interior was lost and 7 firefighters died.
It was rebuilt in the 1980s and still stands on the Liffey today — a symbol of resilience.
If you’re near Connolly, go see it.
The dome and the 14 river-head keystones are incredible up close.

The Irish Famine wasn’t just about potatoes.
From 1845, a blight destroyed the main food crop for millions of Irish families.
But food was still being exported while people starved.
By 1852, Ireland’s population had dropped by about 25% through death and emigration.
It shaped our history, our diaspora, and who we are today.
Let’s keep telling the story.
