Today I realized my brain was tired and needed some rest.
I kept thinking about everything I had to do today and it started to feel overwhelming.
So I decided to step out and take a one-hour walk to somewhere unfamiliar.
I eventually found a cool spot, sat down, and just allowed the cool breeze to refresh my mind while I sip some warm herbal tea.
And honestly… it was refreshing.
Sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself is pause, step away for a moment, and give your mind the space it needs to breathe. 🌿

One of the biggest things stressing me right now is the language barrier.
Just when you feel like you’re making progress… boom! You run into that language requirement (Level B2 or C1) staring right at you again.
Yes, there are international organizations and English-speaking opportunities, but they are limited. And sometimes distance or location becomes another obstacle.
It can feel discouraging at times, especially when you know you have the skills and the passion to contribute.
But I keep reminding myself: every step forward still counts, even the slow ones.

Let’s talk about stress for a moment.
Are you able to tell when you are stressed?
Sometimes stress doesn’t shout… it whispers.
It shows up as irritation, tiredness, overthinking, or feeling overwhelmed by small things.
Many of us keep pushing through life without realizing that our mind and body are asking for a pause.
So I’m curious…
How do you recognize when you are stressed?
And what do you do to help yourself calm down before things go overboard?
For me, I’ve learned that sometimes the best thing you can do is pause, breathe, and give yourself grace.
Life can be a lot, but taking care of our mental and emotional well-being matters too.

Children in the Netherlands are given a lot of independence early.
For example:
Many kids cycle to school on their own.
They play outside with friends without constant supervision.
Cities are designed to be safe for children (bike lanes, parks, playgrounds).
This independence builds confidence and happiness.
