400 Kenya Airways pilots go on strike paralyzing operations of Kenya's national flag carrier. As a result: 10,000 passengers have been affected. 6,000 tons of cargo affected. KQ flights rerouted to Ethiopia ,local ones to JamboJet. CS Murkomen calls it economic sabotage.

The Holy Father Pope Francis has appointed Rev.Fr Henry Juma Odonya as the new Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Kitale .
Bishop elect Henry Juma Odonya was born on 10th December 1976 in Nairobi. He was ordained Deacon on 11th June 2005 before his priestly ordination on 25th June2006 for the Catholic Diocese of Eldoret
The 46 years old bishop elect has served in the parishes of St. Patricks Kapcherop and St. Teresa Of Avilla Ndalat in Eldoret Diocese, and St. Zeno Kolongolo (2011-2013) and Holy Family Chepchoina (2013-2015) in the Catholic Diocese of Kitale.
He has also served as the Chairman of Kenya Fidei Donum Association from , and as Chairman Eldoret Diocesan Priests Association from 2015 to 2016.
Bishop-Elect Juma is currently serving as a Formator at St. Patrick Philosophy House – Durban in South Africa. He takes over from Bishop Maurice Crowley who is retiring having attained the bishop’s mandatory retirement age of 75 years.

Tom Mboya's father Mzee Lewnadus Ndiege sits by his assassinated son's coffin. He had brought up his son on a sisal plantation at Thika where he worked as a labourer. Although Mzee Ndiege never stepped in a classroom, he valued education so much , and saved the little he earned as a sisal cutter to take his son to school. His son would later become one of Kenya's most outstanding politicians before his life was cut short by a lone gunman.
