Rest in peace, my brother and friend Robinson Okemo (Robin). Your friendship, wisdom and service to the people of Emabungo will forever be remembered. May God grant your family strength and comfort during this difficult moment. 🕊️

You have fought a good fight. Rest well, Robin.

Democracy is more than casting a ballot every five years. It is the freedom to speak, the right to be heard, the ability to question those in power, and the responsibility of leaders to listen to the people they serve. As we mark the International Day of Democracy, we must remember that human rights, equality, accountability and participation are not privileges—they are foundations of a democratic society.
Inter-Parliamentary Union
As young leaders, our responsibility is to build a political culture where we can disagree without becoming enemies, compete without destroying one another, and lead without silencing those who question us. Democracy must live in our villages, our wards, our counties and our institutions—not only in Parliament or during elections. Let us protect the voice of the ordinary citizen and make leadership truly about the people. Obwami Mubandu.

To all eligible graduates, especially the young people of Emabungo and beyond: an important opportunity has been announced by the Public Service Commission under the State Department for Basic Education.
The programme has 1,000 internship vacancies under the Digital Literacy Programme (DLP). The internship will run for 12 months, with successful applicants deployed to schools at Sub-County level. Applicants must have graduated not earlier than 2022 and hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education with ICT/Information Communication Technology specialization, a Bachelor’s degree in ICT, or a Diploma in ICT/ICT Integration in Education, among other requirements.
📌 Deadline: 5th October 2026
🌐 Applications are to be made online through the Public Service Commission jobs portal: Public Service Commission Kenya
My message to our young people is simple: opportunities must be sought, shared and utilized. As leaders, we should not only talk about youth unemployment; we must also help young people identify available opportunities and equip themselves to compete for them. Share this information with a graduate who may qualify. One opportunity can change a life. 🇰🇪

Today, I joined fellow youth leaders for a mentorship session with pupils at Ebunangwe Junior School in Emuhaya Sub-County. We had the opportunity to encourage the learners, share life lessons, motivate them to believe in themselves and remind them that their dreams are valid. We also distributed stationery to support them in their learning journey.
As upcoming leaders, we have a responsibility to invest in the next generation—not only through words, but also through actions. Leadership is about creating hope, opening minds and giving young people the confidence to become the leaders, professionals and change-makers our communities need. When we mentor a child today, we are shaping the society of tomorrow. 🌍📚
