Wig, weave & permed-hair girlies… Karibu!
We may have started as a natural hair community, but our hair journeys certainly didn't all stay natural. And that's the beauty of evolution.
Some discovered wigs. Some swear by a good weave. Some went back to permed hair. Some switch between ALL of them depending on the mood, season and occasion.
No rules. No judgement. Just your hair, your choice and your story.
So tell us where are you in your hair journey today, and how did you get here?
Drop your favourite look below.
And Knotties… something is cooking.
We've been listening to these stories, and very soon, we might just have to take this conversation from the comments to the table.
Stay close.

Some of us didn’t transition to another hairstyle. We simply let it ALL go.
The bald head.
For some, it was a bold fashion choice.
For others, convenience.
For some, illness changed their relationship with their hair.
And for others, cutting it all off marked a deeply personal season; grief, healing, letting go, starting again.
Whatever brought you here, there is often a story behind that beautiful bald crown.
Bald Knotties, Karibu.
What made you cut your hair?
And perhaps the bigger question…
How did you feel when you saw yourself without hair for the first time?
Share your story and your photos if you're comfortable.
Every crown has a story. Even the crown with no hair.

Locs & Sisterlocks Knotties, it’s your turn!
Somewhere along the natural hair journey, some of us decided to lock it in.
For some, it was Sisterlocks. For others, traditional locs. Some started tiny and watched them grow; others transitioned after years of afros, braids, tapered cuts and everything in between.
And we know that decision usually comes with a story.
What made you start your loc journey?
Was it freedom? Less manipulation? A lifestyle change? Convenience? Or did you simply fall in love with the look?
And how many years or months are you into your journey now?
Drop a photo in the stories section and tell us your story.

For many of us, the natural hair journey started with the big chop, then came the fro. Some Knotties looked at all that hair and decided to do a tapered cut
Was this part of your journey?
What made you move from the fro to a tapered cut? Was it convenience, a fresh start, less maintenance, or you simply wanted a new look?
And did you stay there… or did your hair journey continue?
Share your tapered cut in the stories section and the story behind it below.
Tell us your story. 👇🏾

Good morning, Knotties!
It’s a beautiful Monday morning, and we hope the week will be kind to all of us.
Now, back to where it all started…
Nurtured Knotts began as a natural hair community.
Those were the days of big chops, shingling, wash days, twist-outs, protective styles and endless conversations about what worked and what absolutely did not.
But somewhere along the way, it became bigger than hair. We gathered, shared ideas and talked about beauty, fashion, wellness, lifestyle and everything in between. We watched locally made natural hair and beauty brands being born and grow right within this community.
And while our hair and our lives may look very different today, those journeys shaped us.
So, Monday roll call:
What did your natural hair journey teach you?
And are you still a naturalista today, or did life take your hair in a completely different direction?

A little trip down memory lane... 🤎
These photos were taken at our last Nurtured Knotts event in 2020. Looking through them reminded us of the incredible community we built together.
Do you recognise anyone?
Tag them in the comments and tell us one thing you remember about them.
Maybe they inspired your hair journey, had the best hairstyles, introduced you to a great product, made you laugh, or became a lifelong friend.
Let's celebrate the people and memories that made Nurtured Knotts more than just a community.

Okay guys… we’re back!
It’s been a minute.
Life happened. COVID happened. We blinked… and somehow six years flew by.
But here we are, ready to reconnect, catch up and write the next chapter of Nurtured Knotts together.
We’re excited to see some familiar faces, hear where life has taken you and welcome a whole new generation of Knotties.
Did you miss us? Because we definitely missed you!
If you did, say something in the comments and tell us what exactly you missed about Nurtured Knotts.
Was it the conversations? Hairitage Chronicles? NK on Wheels? Discovering new brands? The hair inspiration? The friendships? Or simply being part of the community?
We’re listening.
