Culture, Community, and a Scientific Twist on Eid Mubarak.
From the lab bench to the festive table, wishing everyone a very happy Eid ul-Fitr! 🌙
This image is a fusion of my passion for molecular genetics and my cherished cultural traditions. It features the tools of my trade—the microscope, the sequencers, and the precise work of a microbiologist—alongside petri dishes "culturing" the spirit of Eid. The gold script represents the enduring and precious nature of our faith and community bonds.
As we celebrate the end of Ramadan, a month of reflection and discipline, I am reminded of the complexity and beauty that exists both in our molecular biology and in our shared human experiences.
Let us carry the lessons of patience, charity, and kindness forward into the new year.
Eid Mubarak to you and your family!

Attended the MLTAP & Allied Health Professionals Council Pakistan Stakeholders’ Panel Discussion — a much-needed and productive conversation for the future of laboratory and allied health professions in Pakistan.
I highlighted the need for recognition of BS graduates in Microbiology, Biochemistry, and Biotechnology, so they can actively work in research, industry, diagnostics, and public health sectors. While pathways may differ, national-level frameworks can ensure their skills are utilized effectively.
We also discussed the importance of international professional platforms like ASM, which offer certifications, learning resources, and global exposure for both students and professionals already in the field but unaware of these opportunities.
Overall, it was a positive and constructive discussion, and I’m hopeful to see more student–professional–regulatory interaction moving forward.

Honored to have completed a career guidance seminar at
Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi
(Institute of Biochemistry & Biotechnology) 🎓🔬
The session included final-semester students from:
âś” BS Biochemistry
âś” BS Microbiology
âś” BS Biotechnology
âś” BS Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT)
We discussed:
✨ Future career opportunities in medical & life sciences
✨ Required documentation & professional registrations
✨ How students can plan early for clinical labs & research
✨ How to use ASM (American Society for Microbiology) resources wisely—now and in the future
As an ASM Youth Ambassador, my goal was to help students understand that being part of a global scientific society like ASM not only builds interest in the field but also provides real opportunities to learn, grow, and connect internationally.
The energy, questions, and enthusiasm of the students were truly motivating.
The future of microbiology and laboratory sciences is in safe hands đź’™

Excited to be conducting a career guidance seminar for students in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, and Medical Laboratory Sciences 🎓🔬
This session is designed to help students understand:
âś” Career options in UK, Ireland, USA & Australia
âś” Licensing & registration processes (HCPC, IBMS, CORU, ASCP, AIMS)
âś” Required documents and exam pathways
âś” Research opportunities, scholarships & global exposure
âś” How to benefit from ASM (American Society for Microbiology) resources
Choosing the right path early can make a huge difference. My aim is to guide students toward clear, realistic, and achievable career goals in clinical labs, research, and beyond.
Looking forward to an engaging and informative session!

Last Thursday, I attended a valuable training session on Quality Control and Troubleshooting in the Molecular Microbiology Laboratory by Ministry of health (MoH) Kuwait. The session provided practical insights into sample rejection criteria, identifying and highlighting critical “ignored” areas, and understanding molecular run errors with corrective actions and preventive precautions.
We also had a concise introduction to SOP development and policy preparation for medical laboratories, reinforcing the importance of standardization, compliance, and continuous quality improvement in molecular diagnostics.
Overall, it was an excellent learning experience that strengthened my understanding of laboratory quality systems and error prevention in molecular microbiology.
