The Executive Governor of Benue State, His Excellency Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has welcomed a delegation of staff, students, and guests from the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, as part of the institution’s 2026 Nigeria Study Tour to Benue State.

The delegation, led by the Chief Coordinator, Navy Captain A. Usman, visited the state under the theme: “Promoting Community Engagement for Enhanced National Security and Prosperity.”

The purpose of the visit was to conduct an assessment tour and expose participants to the realities on ground regarding practices, training, and engagements related to national security and prosperity. The delegation is expected to interact with communities, security agencies, and relevant sectors to assess prevailing challenges, needs, and opportunities within the state.

Governor Alia, represented by the Deputy Governor of Benue State, His Excellency Barr. Dr. Sam Ode, mni, expressed appreciation to the Armed Forces Command and Staff College for selecting Benue State for the national exercise.

The Governor described the theme of the study tour as timely, relevant, and critical to addressing the security challenges confronting the nation. He noted that his administration strongly believes that sustainable peace and security can only be achieved through inclusive governance, active youth engagement, and strong collaboration with security institutions.

Governor Alia commended the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of the nation’s military personnel, stating that their dedication continues to inspire hope for a safer and more prosperous Nigeria. He emphasized that the bravery displayed by members of the Armed Forces deserves the support and cooperation of every Nigerian citizen.
