Frontline Mobilizers Network Delta State recalls that Charles Azuka Halim has consistently identified with the political movement around Peter Obi and the vision of a New Nigeria.

During the 2023 election, Halim was actively involved in mobilization efforts across Aniocha/Oshimili, driven by his belief in Peter Obi’s leadership and the principles he represented.

When Peter Obi moved to the ADC, Charles Azuka Halim remained with him and continued to support the movement. When Peter Obi subsequently moved to the NDC, Halim also remained aligned with the same vision and chose to pursue his political ambition under the NDC platform.

Unfortunately, some individuals who, in our view, had not previously demonstrated the same commitment to Peter Obi’s ideology eventually secured tickets. That is, however, a matter for the party and its internal processes.

What remains important to us is consistency of principle.

Charles Azuka Halim’s political choices have been guided by his continued belief in competence, responsible leadership and the vision of a New Nigeria, rather than by political convenience.

As the political landscape evolves, we believe political records should be examined carefully. Nigerians deserve to distinguish between long-standing commitment and newly emerging political alignments.

**Happy Independence Day from Charles Azuka Halim**

My fellow Nigerians, people of Aniocha/Oshimili,

Happy 66th Independence Anniversary! Today we remember the courage of those who fought for our freedom and the dream of a nation where every citizen can live in peace, dignity and prosperity.

But true independence is more than a flag and a public holiday. It is the freedom to travel safely, the freedom to earn a decent living, and the freedom to see your children thrive in good schools and healthy communities. Sixty-six years on, too many families still face insecurity, joblessness and the rising cost of living, and too many promises have been made and not kept. Our people deserve better.

Still, I believe in this nation and in its people. Our best days can be ahead of us, if we choose leaders who put service before self and results before rhetoric. Aniocha/Oshimili must move forward.
