Let’s talk about SDD, DD, and SD —
because too many people are mixing it up.

Some people think it means quality.
Some think it means density.
Truth is — it’s neither.
Let me explain what really goes on behind the scenes in the hair factories 👇🏽

When hair is collected from donors…

It doesn’t all come in one perfect length.
Some strands are long, others are short — that’s just how natural human hair grows.

Before the hair is packed and sold, factory workers sort and “draw” it by length.
That’s where the terms Single Drawn, Double Drawn, and Super Double Drawn come from.
It’s literally about how many shorter hairs they remove during sorting.

SINGLE DRAWN (SD)

This is hair that has not been sorted much.
They leave most of the short hairs inside, so the bundle has mixed lengths — 24-inch hair mixed with 20s, 18s, 16s, etc.
It looks natural (like real hair that grows from your scalp) but the ends are lighter because of the shorter strands.

DOUBLE DRAWN (DD)

Here, the factory workers take extra time to remove more of the short hairs, keeping mostly strands that are close in length.
That’s why Double Drawn looks thicker and more uniform from top to bottom.
It’s fuller, neater, and has less tapering at the ends — but still not blunt.

SUPER DOUBLE DRAWN (SDD)

Now this is the luxury level.
Factory workers go through the bundle almost strand by strand, removing nearly all the shorter hairs.
What’s left?
Almost every strand is the same length — thick from root to tip, very blunt, and very rich-looking.
That’s why SDD wigs look so full even when they weigh the same grams as SD or DD.

Here’s where people get it wrong:
“Drawn” describes length uniformity.
“Density” describes how much hair (grams) is used in the wig.

So yes — an SDD and SD wig can both weigh 300g, but the SDD looks fuller because the hair strands are the same length, not because it has more hair.

And yes…This sorting applies to every texture — Bone Straight, Pixel, Curly, Wavy, HES, anything!
You can have Bone Straight SDD, Pixel DD, or even Kinky SD — it’s all about how the hair was drawn, not the texture or quality.
