STATEHOUSE STATEMENT

PRESIDENT TINUBU DIRECTS EFCC TO VACATE THE COURT ORDER FREEZING OSUN GOVERNMENT ACCOUNT

It has come to my notice that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) obtained a court order on August 5, 2026, freezing the accounts of the Osun State Government. I must state that I feel deeply embarrassed not by the EFCC's exercise of its mandate backed by a court order, but by the timing of the agency's action. This is so because every action taken by an institution of State, especially at the Federal level, is always credited to me, as the President, even when I may not have had any prior knowledge of the action.

Since assuming office, I have consistently maintained that anti-corruption and law enforcement agencies must be allowed to discharge their statutory responsibilities independently, professionally, without fear or favour, or political interference. I have therefore deliberately refrained from directing or interfering in the operational activities of the EFCC or any other investigative or prosecutorial agency because I firmly believe that strong democratic institutions, operating within the confines of the law, are indispensable to democratic good governance and the rule of law.

As President, I am committed to allowing institutions of State to function and take any action they consider necessary in the interest of proper governance without the need for any prior approval. Indeed, that is why institutions are set up by law with clearly defined powers. While I am yet to be fully apprised of the facts which informed the action of EFCC in approaching the court to obtain the said order freezing the Osun State Government account, I am not in the slightest doubt that the timing of the action of EFCC is inauspicious, and therefore I feel compelled to intervene.

Osun State is only a few days away from its gubernatorial election. Therefore, nothing ought to be done to give an impression that the EFCC or indeed any other agency of the federal government is being used to interfere with the election.

Based on the foregoing premise, I am duty-bound to issue a directive on this issue in consonance with the overriding public interest in preserving public confidence and the integrity, credibility, and fairness of our democratic process.

Accordingly, I have directed the EFCC to immediately proceed to the court to vacate the order and discontinue whatever action it has instituted against the Osun State Government in this regard.

Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

On the almost rainy day of Thursday 30th July 2026, it was a lovely and pleasant atmosphere at Bodmark Schools Oke Gbodo, via Adamo-Ikorodu, Lagos.

Every new day is a day that comes with new challenges, growth and opportunities. How we choose to judiciously use the times determines what the gains would be.

When you operate a business in Nigeria without registering it with the Corporate Affairs Commission, it is to your disadvantage. Not filing annual returns as at when due is as risky as owing the landlord his shop rent which may be quite displeasing. Don't wait until you lose that grant or soft loan for business development.

A word is enough for the wise. For all your Corporate Affairs Commission services, you are just a DM close to Easy-T's Media Concepts and Entertainment Outfit. Click on this link https://wa.me/2347035893951 to discuss business or call 07035893951

*Next Level Tutorial College Turns 5 in Conjunction with Presentation of Awards*

It was a pleasant surprise for me as I got a *certificate of appreciation* *from Next Level Tutorial College*, Adamo-Ikorodu, Lagos for my acknowledging my efforts as a tutor. As NLTC celebrated its 5 years of existence and impact on Saturday 25th July 2026, it also awarded the highest scoring students in the last UTME of year 2026 and the ever responsive tutors.

This gladdened my heart as it's a testament to the fact that inputs to the growth and preparation for students' future did not go unnoticed. I am also highly honoured that the young entrepreneur and Chief Tutor of NLTC, Mr Samuel Olusanya understands the place of experienced tutors in the endeavour of teaching and moulding lives without taking them for granted. Money is good but some relationships are worth making memories with.

Congratulations to the team lead, Mr Sam working hard to get this far, all the students awardees and the team members for being achievers indeed. Greater heights we go at Next Level Tutorial College by the special grace of the Almighty God.

*The Adverse State of Examination Malpractice in Nigeria-Normalising the Abnormal*

Examination malpractice has always existed from time immemorial but it used to be an abnormal phenomenon in the sight of educators, parents, policy makers and even the society at large. It was totally unacceptable and prohibited. Nowadays, it has become a normality and almost everyone including the stakeholders are wallowing in it. How did we get here, how did this come to be, is there a way out? These are the questions this piece intends to answer through its contribution.

If my knowledge and observation power isn't failing me over time, it all began with lackadaisical attitudes of parents of the Generation Z. They don't want to give all it takes to help their wards achieve success with hard work, parental monitoring and firmness. I remember our days of attending government schools; when those who perform poorly below average are made to repeat class or got promotion on trial without any objection from the parents. This awakened the sleeping giants in some of us which made us intellectually better today. Most parents of this era believe their money is enough to propel the private schools into awarding good grades to students without wanting to complement the school's effort at home to ensure their children arrive at genuine success. Father and mother are too busy pursuing daily bread and greener pastures. They shirk in their responsibilities and reward laziness in children. They trade fee paying and pampering for hardwork.

Secondly, the above attitudes of these generation's parents was further fuelled by the greed of private school owners to make money by all means possible. They pretend to bow to the pressure from parents who solicit assistance for their wards in examinations because of the money. Under the harsh economic conditions of the country, supposed nation builders(teachers) trade value for money. They now use the popular term "it's normal, that's what other schools do in examinations". So, glorification of false results with fake grades achieved through malpractice is rampant.

I make bold to say that; government contributed a larger percentage to this menace. Although, government schools condition have been improved upon compared to before, there are no set standards for private primary and secondary school ownership in Nigeria. Any individual who has capital to fund the basics of starting a business can establish without meeting up with proper qualities such as minimum qualification of teachers, minimum pay range for teachers per qualification and welfare of teachers. People who have no iota of idea in education are the most school operators. We can't expect more from a corrupt leadership system in itself. These days, invigilators of external examinations are willing to compromise. Even the government's quality assurance department haunt school owners who strive to meet up with standards but not willing to 'settle'.

The way out of this abnormality made normal. Every party involved as aforementioned should work towards changing our mentalities of cutting corners to encouraging due diligence in order to breed a better future. The seeds we sow today germinate tomorrow (whether good or bad). Government should return to the days of granting promotion to only students who truly merit it by performance. Also, private school ownerships should be based on professional training and acceptable practice standards.
