It was a Miracle at Alex Ekwueme federal Teaching Hospital

There was jubilation today at Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki. The atmosphere shifted from routine hospital work to rapturous thanksgiving as news spread through the wards.

The cause of the celebration was a New Month gift to the family of Dr. Chijioke Ogeh, Consultant Pediatrician and Deputy CMAC of the hospital. After 16 long years of waiting in marriage, God blessed the couple with five children at once.

The babies are quintuplets: four boys and one girl. Medical staff and patients described the delivery as extraordinary. Many called it nothing short of divine.

The Chief Medical Advisory Committee, CMAC, of the hospital described the birth of the quintuplets as a record breaker for the facility. He said it was the first time in the hospital’s history that a set of five babies was delivered successfully.

A grateful Dr. Ogeh stood before colleagues, tears in his eyes, to give thanks to God. He told everyone present that God keeps His word and His timing is perfect. He urged other couples waiting on God to remain steadfast in faith.

Psalm 127:3 came alive in that moment: “Children are a heritage from Jehovah (Lord), offspring a reward from Him.” What looked impossible for 16 years became a testimony in one delivery room.
