I know some people have heard these words but really don’t understand the meaning : Longevity, Projection & Sillage.

Let me explain 👇🏻

Longevity is simply how long your perfume lasts on your clothes. �You spray it in the morning and hours later, you can still smell it on your skin or clothes.

Projection is how far your perfume can be smelled while you’re still there.
�For example, someone is walking towards you and before they even get to where you are, they can already smell your perfume.

They don’t have to sit beside you or come close to you before they perceive it. That is projection.

Sillage is the scent you leave behind when you move away.
�You know when someone walks past you, leaves the place, and you can still smell their perfume in the air after they’re gone?
�That is sillage.

So, in simple terms:

Longevity - How long it lasts.
�Projection - How far it reaches while you’re wearing it.
�Sillage - The scent you leave behind.

DON’T BUY PERFUME

Let me tell you something about choosing perfumes that I think a lot of people get wrong.

Just because a perfume smells good on your friend or someone else doesn't mean you will like it on yourself.

And just because everybody is shouting this perfume is very strong, It lasts all day, doesn't mean that's the perfume for you.

See ehn… perfume is like a dress.

Follow me, let me explain.

If you see someone wearing a really beautiful dress and you love it, do you just go and buy the same dress immediately?

Of course not.

You’ll probably start asking questions.

What size is it?

Will it fit me?

Will it look good on my body?

Where can I wear it to?

Is it something I can actually move around comfortably in?

You won't just say, This dress is fine and buy it because it looks good on somebody else.

Abi I lie? 😂

So, the same thing applies to perfume.

Before you buy a perfume because someone said it smells so good, you need to ask yourself a few questions.

Do I even like this type of scent?

Do I want something strong or something mild?

Where am I going to wear it?

Is it for everyday use?

Is it for work?

Is it for when I'm going out?

Because the fact that something works for someone else doesn't automatically mean it will work for you.

Just like that fine dress, the perfume has to fit you too.
