A full-circle moment I'll never forget.
Last year, during the 5th annual MSME and startup economic summit 2025 by at Civic Centre, Victoria Island, I signed up as an exhibitor. Like many other vendors, I was outside showcasing my products and hustling to attract customers. We had no idea what was happening inside the main event hall. Then an announcement came: "Vendors, come and talk about your business."
I was still contemplating whether to go or not because I didn't come with anyone to help me. I kept asking myself, "How will I leave my stand?" After a long battle in my heart, I finally decided to go. By the time I got there, every other vendor had already done their pitch presentation.
As soon as I entered the hall, I heard the MC ask, "Have all the vendors pitched?" I quickly collected the microphone because I was the only one left.
Honestly, I didn't even know what I was saying. 😂 I shaa remember talking about PLACIL.
As I came down from the stage, I wanted to head back outside to continue looking after my market because, honestly, na that one dey very important to me. But a fellow vendor said, "Why not wait? They're about to announce the winners."
I thought, "Winner ke? Wetin concern me?" 😂 Anyway, I stayed.
And then... they called my name.
I won.🥰🤭
