Finally today, I share our story 🍀

He showed up for a 7 a.m. Waffle House shift on the same day as his high school graduation.
But 18-year-old Timothy Harrison was not planning to walk across the stage.
In May 2021, Timothy was working at a Waffle House in Center Point, Alabama, when his manager, Cedric Hampton, found out why he was not going to the ceremony. Timothy did not have a ride, did not have dress clothes, and still needed to pick up his cap and gown from Woodlawn High School.
His Waffle House team refused to let that be the end of the story.
With only a few hours before the ceremony, they stepped in like family. Several employees chipped in around $40 each, with some customers also helping, to buy him gray pants, a light blue dress shirt, a tie, and shoes. One coworker helped get his graduation gear, and another made sure he got across Birmingham in time.
Timothy made it to his graduation.
And when the ceremony ended, his Waffle House coworkers were there waiting for him, cheering in the parking lot like they had just watched one of their own win.
Later, when the story reached the news, Lawson State Community College offered Timothy a full scholarship, including books. By that fall, he had moved into his dorm and started his next chapter.
Sometimes one person just needs somebody to notice.
And that day, his coworkers did more than notice.
They showed up.
