🦷⚠️ No Pain Today—But What About Tomorrow?
This video shows an impacted wisdom tooth that is not currently causing any noticeable problems.
But an impacted wisdom tooth can be difficult to clean and may, depending on its position, contribute to food trapping, decay, gum disease, infection, or damage to the neighboring tooth over time.
👉 The decision to remove it should be based on its position, relationship with the adjacent tooth, hygiene accessibility, symptoms, and potential future risks, along with clinical and radiographic evaluation.
In this case, extraction was chosen as the appropriate preventive treatment to help maintain oral health and avoid potential future complications.
🦷 The absence of pain does not always mean the absence of risk.
Early evaluation allows us to identify problems before they become bigger problems.

🦷😳 Good Oral Hygiene… But Look at the Wisdom Tooth!
This picture shows good overall oral hygiene, yet the wisdom tooth has developed tooth decay.
Why?
Even when a wisdom tooth erupts normally, its position at the very back of the mouth can make brushing, flossing, and plaque removal much more difficult.
As a result, wisdom teeth can be more prone to food accumulation, decay, and gum problems.
👉 This is one reason dentists often recommend careful evaluation of wisdom teeth, particularly when they are difficult to clean, repeatedly cause problems, or have an unfavorable position.
⚠️ But remember: not every wisdom tooth needs to be removed. A healthy, functional wisdom tooth that can be properly cleaned and maintained may be monitored.
🦷 A normally erupted wisdom tooth doesn't always mean an easily maintained wisdom tooth.

😔🦷 A Missing Front Tooth—and a Mouth Asking for Attention
This picture tells a story of long-term oral-health neglect.
You can see a missing upper front tooth, along with generalized calculus, poor oral hygiene, and unhealthy-looking gums around the remaining teeth.
⚠️ A missing tooth is not only an esthetic problem. When gum disease and poor oral hygiene are left untreated, the supporting tissues of the teeth can gradually become compromised.
🪥 Plaque and calculus need to be addressed, and the gums need proper periodontal assessment and management.
❤️ Losing a tooth may happen for many reasons, but ignoring the early warning signs can make problems much harder to manage.
Don’t wait until a tooth is lost.
Take care of your gums. Clean your teeth properly. Seek dental care early.

😳🦷 Why do these teeth look so long?
These premolar and molar teeth may look unusually long, but the teeth themselves have not actually grown longer.
👉 The gums have receded and moved apically, exposing more of the tooth root and creating the appearance of “long teeth.”
This picture shows signs of severe periodontitis, including:
🔴 Significant gum recession
🦴 Interdental bone loss
🦷 Loss of periodontal support
⚠️ Advanced gum disease
Unfortunately, in this particular case, the affected teeth had a hopeless prognosis and could not be predictably saved.
💔 Periodontitis can progress gradually, often without severe pain, while the supporting bone is being destroyed.
Don’t wait until your teeth start looking longer or become mobile. Early diagnosis and periodontal treatment can help protect the supporting tissues and preserve natural teeth.
🦷 Healthy teeth need healthy gums and supporting bone.

🦷⚠️ When a Wisdom Tooth Damages Its Neighbor
This video clearly shows how leaving an impacted wisdom tooth untreated can sometimes lead to serious problems.
In this case, the impacted wisdom tooth contributed to severe decay and loss of support around the second molar, making the second molar extremely mobile and impossible to save. As a result, both the wisdom tooth and the second molar had to be removed.
An impacted wisdom tooth may not cause symptoms in the beginning, but it can sometimes damage the neighboring tooth over time.
🦷 Early evaluation of impacted wisdom teeth especially in younger patients can help identify problems before significant damage occurs.
Don’t wait until you lose the tooth next to your wisdom tooth.

🦷🔎 One Picture. Three Abnormalities. Three Different Approaches.
In this case, I have labelled three different abnormalities:
1️⃣ High labial frenal attachment
The labial frenum is attached unusually close to the gum margin. When indicated, management may involve a labial frenectomy to release the abnormal attachment.
2️⃣ Localized gingival overgrowth
The gum has enlarged around an area where the lower tooth is abnormally positioned. Management may include professional tooth cleaning followed by appropriate gingival reshaping, depending on the clinical condition.
3️⃣ Anterior crossbite
The lower front tooth/teeth are positioned in front of the upper teeth when biting. This requires orthodontic correction to bring the teeth into a healthier and more functional relationship.
🧩 Three problems → Three different treatment approaches.
This is why proper diagnosis is so important in dentistry. Treating only what is visible without identifying the underlying problem may not provide the desired result.
🦷 Diagnose first. Plan properly. Treat the cause.

🦷🔄 The Vicious Cycle That Can Destroy Your Gum Health
What happens when you stop brushing properly and avoid professional dental cleaning for a long time?
Plaque and calculus accumulate → gums become inflamed and swollen → brushing becomes uncomfortable or painful → you brush less effectively → even more plaque accumulates.
🔄 Poor cleaning → gum inflammation → pain while brushing → poorer cleaning → worsening gum disease.
Over time, persistent gum inflammation can progress to periodontitis, where the tissues and bone supporting the teeth can be damaged.
But there is hope.
With proper gum-disease management, including professional periodontal care and effective daily oral hygiene, gum health can often be significantly improved and inflammation controlled.
🪥 Don’t stop brushing because your gums bleed or hurt. Instead, get the cause assessed and learn the right way to care for your gums.
Break the cycle before it breaks down the support around your teeth.

Parents, Please Don’t Ignore Your Child’s Teeth!
This is a 9-year-old child with multiple carious teeth, and it is a powerful reminder of what can happen when oral care is neglected for a long time.
Tooth decay doesn’t usually appear overnight. It develops gradually when plaque, frequent sugary foods/drinks, inadequate brushing, and delayed dental care allow the disease process to continue.
🌙 One habit parents should never compromise on: brushing properly before going to bed. During sleep, the mouth becomes a particularly important time for plaque and food debris to remain undisturbed. If teeth are not cleaned properly before bedtime, the risk of decay can increase, especially when sugary foods or drinks are frequently consumed.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Parents, your child may not understand the importance of protecting their teeth. You have to. Don’t wait until your child has pain, swelling, broken teeth, or difficulty eating.
❤️ Teach good oral hygiene from an early age.
🪥 Supervise brushing when needed.
🍭 Limit frequent sugary snacks and drinks.
🦷 Seek dental care early when you notice a problem.
Healthy teeth in childhood help build a healthier smile for life.

😳🦷 How did these teeth become this loose?
This video shows an advanced stage of periodontitis, where the teeth have reached Grade 3 mobility; an extreme level of looseness.
⚠️ This does not happen in a single day. It is usually the result of a long period of untreated gum disease, plaque and calculus accumulation, inflammation, and gradual loss of the bone and tissues supporting the teeth.
💔 No one wants to lose their natural teeth. But lack of awareness, poor oral hygiene, delayed dental care, and ignoring early warning signs can allow gum disease to progress silently.
By the time teeth become severely mobile, the damage may already be extensive and treatment can become much more difficult.
Start taking care of your teeth from an early age. Don’t wait for pain or extreme mobility to seek help.
❤️ Your natural teeth are designed to last a lifetime, they don't come with an expiry date.
This video is shared for oral-health education and awareness, so that we learn from advanced cases and take action much earlier.

😳🦷 What Is This Tiny Tooth Doing Between the Two Front Teeth?
The small tooth-like structure you see in this video is actually a mesiodens: a supernumerary (extra) tooth that has erupted between the two upper central incisors.
Because of its unusual position, maintaining proper oral hygiene around it can be difficult. 🪥
You can clearly see a thick band of calculus around the tooth, showing how plaque and tartar can accumulate in areas that are difficult to clean.
In this case, the mesiodens was removed to improve the local oral environment and allow better hygiene and management of the surrounding teeth. 🦷
The video shows the position of the mesiodens, its removal, and the small tooth-like structure after removal.
⚠️ An extra tooth may look small, but its position can create big problems.
