Don't be fooled into thinking I've got life figured out just because things are starting to fall into place.
The new house, the business, the family, the progress you see on social media. I'm grateful for it all, but that doesn't mean life has suddenly become easier.
A new home means new commitments, new responsibilities, new pressures and new challenges. It also means discovering new versions of myself that I haven't met yet.
I'm still learning how to navigate it all. As a husband, a father, a business owner and a man trying to become better.
Some days I'm confident. Other days I'm overwhelmed, mentally exhausted or questioning whether I'm doing enough.
But one thing I've learnt is that showing up isn't about always feeling ready. It's about turning up regardless of how I'm feeling.
I have battles nobody knows about, just like everyone else.
And that's why I try to lead with kindness. Because I know what my own battles feel like, and the last thing I want is to add to someone else's.
I'm proud of how far we've come as a family, but I'm also aware that every new blessing comes with new responsibilities and opportunities to grow.
Growth doesn't mean I've conquered life. Sometimes it just means I've accepted more responsibility while still figuring myself out.
So don't mistake progress for perfection or silence for having everything under control.
I'm still learning, still growing, still fighting my own battles.
Just doing my best to show up for my wife, my kids, myself and the life we're building here in the Far Far North.
And if you're figuring life out as you go too, I hope you remember to give yourself and others a little grace along the way β€οΈ
Watching the Knights go one man down for over half a finals game and still find a way to win reminded me of the spirit of the place where our family started β Cessnock. The spirit of showing up.
I was raised in Sydney and Iβll always back my Bulldogs π΅βͺοΈ, but Iβll always have respect for Newcastle, Cessnock and the Knights faithful. π΄π΅
Our little family started in Cessnock, surrounded by honest, hard-working people who backed their team whether they were top of the ladder or at the bottom.
They showed up.
Thatβs the spirit I saw in this win.
Hard-working. Loyal. Resilient. Respect to the Hunter. βοΈπ΄π΅
