Exciting news! šŸŽI have new qualifications in Contact Care.

I am super excited! Over the last few months, I have been working towards my foundation student qualifications in Contact care for horses, dogs and humans.

ConTact C.A.R.E Flinchlock ReleaseĀ® is a gentle, non-invasive method designed to relieve pain and improve mobility by releasing "trapped bone pressure" in the body. Working on the skeletal self defence system and nervous system to resolve deep tension, which can help the body to recover from injuries, pain, concussions, and chronic conditions in both humans and animals.

I call it miracle work at a foundational level, that most people have to experience to believe.

Over the last few months, I have helped people recover naturally from memory loss, pain, trauma, walk without a walking stick, gain mental clarity, walk straighter, heal from life long ailments, heal pain, helped release emotional pressure and pain so horses can heal naturally, and have witnessed the most profound shifts in myself and others.

I plan to specialise in horses and human contact care, and ideally work with racehorses and rugby players to help with concussion and impact injuries. But at the moment I am just enjoying using my magic hands for healing and hair.

If you would like to know more, I plan to add contact care to my Intuitive alignment mentoring business Life designer NZ helping clients to realign their lives through commonsense, kindness, natural healing and empowerment rather than coping mechanisms. My ethos is meditation over medication and contact care.. a pain free amazing modality which helps people and animals to safely realign naturally.. is the perfect additive to my business.

Bridal vibes 2026-2027:

If the world doesn't end before next season... this would be the dream!

I love a good Pinterest board, and creating often gets me out of a funk! I know for brides it can be super overwhelming planning a wedding, let alone with the additional pressure my Rockstar brides over the past few years who have endured with so many ups and downs outside of their control!

My suggestion is, if you're feeling overwhelmed when planning your big day, start small.

Bite sized pieces. Start with a colour, and go from there. Or start from a photo that really resonates and sit with it.

Less is more, and before you know it you'll have a theme, a vibe and a few ideas that your vendors can work with to co-create magic.

For me, as a stylist, knowing what you like and don't like is super helpful! I want you to feel heard in the process so we can create the best result.

Finding a few core photos of hairstyles you like, then we can have a chat at our hair trial, and we can then use that as a foundation to then build from. And sometimes we trial an idea and between the trial and the big day, we decide to shift gears completely and that is ok!

As your bridal hair guide, I am here to support you on your journey and co-create the look that lasts a lifetime.

**Creating Your Wedding Vision Without the Overwhelm on PINTEREST šŸ’šŸ‘°ā™„**

Planning your dream wedding? A mood board is your secret weapon for turning Pinterest chaos into clarity.

**Here's how to make it work for you:**

šŸ’›First things first—if you're not on Pinterest yet, create yourself a profile and let's get started. It's such a handy tool for capturing your vision.

+ Start broad, then narrow - Save everything that catches your eye initially, then curate down to what truly resonates with your vibe.

+ Look for patterns - Notice the colours, textures, and styles that keep appearing in your saves—that's your authentic aesthetic speaking.

+ Create visual cohesion - Pull your favourites into one board to see how elements work together before committing.

+ Trust your gut - If it doesn't spark joy when you look at it, it doesn't belong in your vision.

+ Your wedding should feel like *you*—elevated, intentional, and effortlessly beautiful. Let your mood board guide the journey, not stress you out.

+ Keep it private. Not everyone needs to know everything, and often giving others input into your special day, (some friends and family) can overwhelm you or make you second guess yourself. It's ok to not be 100% on everything, it's a big job making lots of decisions. If you're unsure, then take a break from planning and come back to it. Often that creates the fresh energy you need to get rolling again.

**My pro tip?** Create a master folder with all your best photos and bridal vision. I like to design an overall mood board in Photoshop from there, but you don't have to. Just curate an aligned board. Then do the same for each of your vendors in subfolders—hair trial, dress fittings, makeup artist, florist, photographer, venue. Having both an overall vision board *and* specific references helps us understand your aesthetic and bring your dream to life with intention and care.

⭐ **PINTEREST – MISS DOM’S CREATIVE PROCESS** ⭐

**Inspiration is everywhere—but it can also get overwhelming!**

Here’s how I gather my ideas and stay focused:

I love using Pinterest as a visual brainstorming tool. When I’m designing for creative projects like photoshoots, I start by collecting images that really resonate with me, then shape them into a mood board—tweaking and trimming as I go. This helps me see the full picture and keep my vision clear.

Brides can do the same for their wedding, whether it’s hair, makeup, florals, or the overall vibe. While I use Photoshop to create final mood boards, if I were planning a wedding, I’d begin by organizing inspiration into subfolders—hair, makeup, ceremony, dress, florals—and regularly revisit and refine them. This prevents overwhelm and keeps everything neatly together.

When you meet your vendors, having this visual process accessible makes it so much easier for us to understand your style, what you love, and what you don’t. It’s a huge help in creating your dream look.

You don’t *have* to do this for your wedding, but if your ideas feel scattered, curating a few that truly speak to you can be a game-changer.

Below is a mood board I created today for 2026-2027 inspo using pinterest and photoshop.

⭐ MISS DOM STYLING – It’s Official! ⭐

⭐ Top 10 Bridal Hair Stylist in New Zealand ⭐

I’m truly honoured to be recognised as one of New Zealand’s Top 10 Bridal Hair Stylists for 2025!

A heartfelt thank you to every couple who chooses **Horowhenua and the Wellington region** to celebrate your special day. Your trust in Miss Dom Styling means the world to me.

These past few years have been incredibly challenging personally and for the wedding industry, and it’s a scary thought to lose an industry that brings so much love and light to NZ. Wedding vendors deeply need your support, and this win means so much to me after 17 years in this industry—I don’t plan on giving up, though for many, the reality of losing their business after working tirelessly is very real. Small businesses have had zero support from the government, and that breaks my heart watching vendors struggle and everything they have worked so hard for, break down through no fault of their own. Instagram and social media don't often give a true representation of the current reality.

On a brighter note! If you're ready to book exceptional bridal hair with a calm, experienced hand—now’s the time to book. I’m currently taking bookings for 2025–2026, and dates fill quickly.
