To Find My Fort
Isha (TMDB)
What do you do when life feels like a heavy storm cloud, but no one showed you how to find the sun? You wander under a dark sky, where each day stretches long and every moment feels like walking through thick mud. Even the simplest tasks—getting out of bed, taking a shower, eating, or just breathing—can feel like a climb up a steep hill.
They tell you to keep moving, to push through the rain, yet they don’t acknowledge those days when every step feels too much. It’s not that you lack courage; it’s just that no one told you it’s okay to lay down your umbrella for a moment. You’ve always been seen as the sturdy tree, so others think you can weather the storm alone.
And perhaps that’s the hardest truth. We’re taught to run fast, to reach for the stars, as if taking a moment to pause is a fault. No one explains how to sit with our feelings, to face them instead of pushing them aside. They may stay tucked away for a while, but eventually, they seep out and demand to be felt. They burst forth unexpectedly, catching you off guard, and in time, they can weigh others down as well, leaving you feeling hollow.
Sometimes, the bravest act is to say you’re exhausted, and that’s perfectly fine. Feeling tired, not searching for a way out, but deeply aware that every part of you aches. You don’t give up. It really is hard to find calmness in the storm within but you don’t just stop. Instead, you learn to breathe and discover how to move forward when the storm begins to calm.
Some might claim life becomes simpler, but perhaps that’s not the full truth. Life doesn’t truly lighten; we simply learn to dance in the rain.
