Islam taught us the value of a working person long before the world declared a day for it:
Hadith: "Pay the worker his wages before his sweat dries." (Ibn Majah)
The Holy Quran: "Man gets only what he strives for." (Surah An-Najm 53:39)

آج یکم مئی ہے — محنت کشوں کا عالمی دن۔ وہ ہاتھ جو دھوپ میں جلتے ہیں، وہ پیٹھیں جو بوجھ اٹھاتی ہیں، وہ آنکھیں جو تھکاوٹ کے باوجود جاگتی ہیں — آج کا دن انہی کے نام ہے۔ یہ لوگ ہی ہیں جن کی محنت سے معاشرے کھڑے ہیں، شہر آباد ہیں اور زندگی رواں دواں ہے۔

اسلام نے محنت کش کی عزت کو کتنا بلند مقام دیا ہے — اس کا اندازہ ان الفاظ سے لگائیں:

حدیثِ نبوی ﷺ: "مزدور کو اس کی مزدوری اس کا پسینہ خشک ہونے سے پہلے ادا کرو۔" (ابنِ ماجہ)

قرآنِ پاک: "انسان کو وہی ملتا ہے جس کی وہ کوشش کرتا ہے۔" (سورۃ النجم 53:39)
