That line had the whole classroom laughing.

This week’s Classroom Chronicles starts with what looks like an easy World Cup question…

A player scored 3 of the team’s 12 goals. What percentage of the goals did the player score?

Then one word appeared…

Percentage. 😅

Confidence disappeared almost instantly.

But instead of giving up, we slowed everything down.

✅ 3 ÷ 12 = 0.25
✅ 0.25 × 100 = 25%

Just like that, the “hard” question wasn’t hard anymore.

That’s something we remind our students every day:

The biggest obstacle isn’t always the math. Sometimes it’s believing you can solve it.

At Miss Goldie’s, we don’t just teach children to find the right answer.

We teach them to think critically, tackle problems one step at a time, and build the confidence to say, “I can do this.”
