Back in February, I made a post calling out a former student, Ashley Carson of Acqua+ Ink, for posting work that was not her own.

After that post was made, I was sued for defamation, business disparagement, and tortious interference, and a Temporary Restraining Order was filed against me.

After months of defending myself over posts that the Court ultimately found were NOT false, I can finally speak more openly about what happened.

Now the Court has ruled.

The Washington County Circuit Court found:

“The Plaintiffs (Ashley Carson and Acqua+ Ink) made posts on social media that included nine (9) photographs that were not Plaintiffs’ own work.”

“At the hearing on this issue, the Plaintiffs (Ashley Carson and Acqua+ Ink) did not identify any false statement in any of the posts made by the Defendants.”

The Court also ruled that the Plaintiffs (Ashley Carson and Acqua+ Ink) were “unable to identify any alleged defamatory statements that were verifiably false.”

Because of that, the Motion for Preliminary Injunction was denied and the Emergency Ex Parte Temporary Restraining Order was dissolved.

Clients trust us with their faces, their confidence, and their safety. Students trust their instructors to lead with honesty, ethics, and integrity. Artists spend years building portfolios, learning techniques, and creating original work that represents their skill and reputation.

When someone presents another artist’s work as their own, that trust is broken.

I did not speak up to bully anyone. I spoke up because I believe our industry deserves honesty, accountability, and transparency.

Hi, I’m Jessica 🤍

I’m a Permanent Makeup Artist and Instructor with over 10 years of experience, and I’ve been incredibly blessed to be one of Northwest Arkansas’s top artists throughout my career.

I offer and teach a full range of permanent makeup services including microblading, nano brows, powder and ombré brows, lip blushing, and lash line enhancement. I also perform and teach paramedical procedures such as inkless scar revision, scar camouflage, 3D ar**la tattooing, and scalp restoration.

But more than anything, I’ve built my career around people.

I’m a wife, a mom to four amazing kids, and a proud bonus mom to two more. Life has given me some really beautiful moments and some really hard ones too, including walking alongside my daughter through her battle with brain cancer. That season changed me, and it’s a big part of why I care so deeply about the work I do and the people I serve.

Whether you are sitting in my chair as a client or training with me as a student, you matter to me.

As an instructor, I don’t just teach technique. I guide, support, and genuinely care about helping artists find their way in this industry. When you train with me, you are not just learning a skill. You are gaining a lifelong mentor.

I also believe that with this career comes responsibility. As a licensed artist and instructor, I hold myself to a high standard and believe in being honest, transparent, and doing the right thing. I care deeply about protecting my clients, my students, and the integrity of this industry.

My goal has always been to create a space where people feel safe, confident, and truly taken care of.
