I love finding new fragrance shops and new fragrance houses 😍 and Perfumology in Philadelphia did not disappoint.

I may have blacked out while inside and purchased a ton of new perfumes 🤦‍♀️ and one such fragrance was Chapter 8, Formulation X from The Scent Library, a luxury niche fragrance house in Dubai.

I am an Iris forward fragrance lover and this one won my heart with its book like presentation and stunning composition of notes. 💜🤍🥰

Base: Tonka, Musk, Olibanum, Benzoin

Wow! What an absolute pleasure it was to explore 8 fragrances from Canadian niche fragrance house Lescento*.

There’s something special about an artisanal fragrance house that you just don’t get with larger mass producing brands. And that small-batch intentionality really came across with these fragrances. 🥰

Lescento generously sent me 8 fragrances to explore and there were a few standouts.

[✏️ But on a side note: I love the names and abbreviated spelling. It was giving me ideas for a custom license plate. ]

The three that resonated with me GLWUP, PHYRE and KNGPN — and sadly I already went through my samples 🤣🤣 so I am seeing some full size upgrades in my future 🔮

The timing of life and perfume…

Sometimes we plan our timing and sometimes time is the one in control. I was punishing myself for being so delinquent in opening my Letter of Scent from July 🤦‍♀️.

Not only was it another stunning presentation of art meets fragrance meets real life but it was also exactly the quiet, private, intimate moment I needed.

Olesia’s artwork is moving and her color choices reflect the fragrance choice and just so happen to be my wedding colors 🥰 so obviously it struck me. And the fragrance choice — another new one to me, this time from Kosui Fragrances and wow, it moved me. 🙏

After sitting with Olesia’s words, gazing at her artwork and breathing in Tasogare— it dawned on me that I was right where I was supposed to be. 🙏

Blackout Buy Part 1: Initio’s Lift Me Up

I acquired many fragrances while traveling and this was one of them. In fairness, she found me, I wasn’t looking for her. 🤷‍♀️

This is a gorgeous fragrance from the Hedonist Collection and is quickly becoming my favorite from the line 😳

The gentleman who was helping me sprayed it on a whim, and I remember him saying “it’s like there’s a coconut vibe, but there’s no coconut in it” and he was so spot on. It has the depth and gentle sweetness of coconut without the sunscreen, sticky sweetness.

It really gives all the warm and fuzzy feels of a tropical, citrus vanilla musk — and it just stays so light and airy and comforting and on my skin I get incredible longevity, unlike some of the other Hedonist collection fragrances.

I’m beginning to think that Initio is really onto something with their whole Power of Scent science and it’s not just a marketing ploy. 🤔

This was not love at first sniff 😳

However, I am happy to report that I am deeply in love with Velvet Violet, despite the jarring opening.

This fragrance is 100% about the dry down for me — powdery, slightly nutty with hints of creamy warmth that lingers on the skin for hours. 🥰

Have you ever been slapped in the face by a fragrance, jarred by the top, shaken, because it wasn’t what you expected?

And yes, I almost dropped the bottle onto the floor during the making of this reel— I am still recovering 🤣🤣🤦‍♀️

I’m in a strange place of feeling overwhelmed and quite stuck. I think I need a dumpster in my driveway to declutter my house (not my perfume).

As a family of 4 we have accumulated an obscene amount of things, compounded by the loss of my parents and adding all their belongings and now our house resembles a furniture store rather than a home. 😬😳😭

I need to declutter my life, my home, probably my perfumes, and then maybe I can shake this feeling of being stuck.

Can you relate? Any suggestions?
