Welcome to my store! You might be wondering where I got the name from. Well, my name is Melinda Raye. I didn't always like my middle name because I thought it sounded boyish, so I never told anyone what it was. But then as I grew older, I realized that my parents named me with a purpose, and to not embrace it was to not embrace the thought and time they took to name me. So I gave myse
lf a nickname, Meliraye, yeah I nicknamed myself, lol. It stuck after all these years and friends and family started calling me by that name. It doesn't hurt that it has a nice rhyming effect with Shea! See, this business was meant to be: Shea by MeliRaye!! I started this business because I have mild eczema and really wanted to find natural skin care remedies that worked for my skin and would not have a negative effect on my body. So years ago when I was first diagnosed, I started experimenting and coming up with all sorts of recipes involving Shea butter. Then I hit gold with my final recipes, (Silk, Smooth aka Velvet, and Creme), so much so that friends and family started asking me to make them batches because it really worked at moisturizing their skin. I never thought about opening up my Shea butter recipes to the world, but then after thinking about it I realized that I had something good to offer the world. So why not jump in head first?? I am a firm believer in following your dreams, no matter how big or small, regardless of how crazy and weird they are. If you can dream it up, then you can make it happen! Believe in yourself even when no one around you does, YOU were given those dreams and desires for a reason. Don't hide them away and feel afraid, usually when you're afraid to do something that is the best time to do it! Believe me, I know first-hand, I've had to go through some pretty uncomfortable places in my life to get where I am, and I have no regrets. Pushing myself into a new direction has made me become the person I am today, and I love who I am...mistakes, failures, and all! Anywho, I hope you enjoy my site.
