Beauty for Ashes Sound Sanctuary
Beauty For Ashes Sound Sanctuary is a trauma – informed holistic wellness approach blending spirituality and communal practices to enhance overall well-being.
Meet Denette King
As a trauma-informed, certified sound healing practitioner, I recognize the importance of creating spaces where people feel truly seen, heard, and valued. I believe healing is not a privilege reserved for a few—it is an essential part of our shared humanity. Yet for many, especially within marginalized and historically marginalized communities, access to wellness has too often been limited or denied. In my practice, I honor the full spectrum of human experience and the resilience that carries us forward. I hold sacred spaces where you can pause, breathe deeply, and release what no longer serves you. Together, we cultivate balanced rhythms of work and rest and remember that healing, renewal, and flourishing unfold most fully in the support of community.

Manifestation can begin with becoming more intentional about the thoughts we return to. Not every thought needs to be believed, and not every fear deserves to become a forecast. When you notice yourself repeating an old story, pause and ask, “Is this still serving me?” Then gently choose a thought that feels more truthful, supportive, and aligned with where you’re growing. Shift the thought. Shift the energy. Shift the way you meet the moment. ✨

Dear Fellow IHHS Alumnae & Loved Ones,
As we navigate mid-life changes, professional responsibilities, and the deeply fulfilling, yet often exhausting, role of caregiving, it is all too easy to put ourselves last. In a world where so many of us have become everything to everyone else, we want to create a intentional moment to pause, gather, and remember who we were before the weight of it all took over.
You are warmly invited to our second annual Rest & Restore Gathering, a dedicated, safe space for alumnae to reconnect, unwind, and nourish our bodies and minds together.
What to Expect
Our time together will be centered around regulating our nervous systems, restoring our energy, and leaning into the power of women supporting women:
🌿Restorative Practices:
Guided Meditation & Breathwork: Grounding techniques to center your mind and release stress.
Gentle Somatic Movement: Mindful, gentle bodywork to release stored tension.
Sound Bath: An immersive acoustic experience to facilitate deep relaxation and healing. You are invited to bring your own floating device, if you want to participate in the pool.
👥 Connect & Reflect:
A open, welcoming time to share experiences, reflect, and enjoy quiet conversation with fellow alumni and loved ones.
Why It Is Important To Gather
Life brings complex transitions, but no one has to navigate them alone. The goal of this gathering is to help us Shift...to move away from constant doing and into a space of pure being, supported by a caring Sisterhood of women who truly understand.
Come as you are, bring an open heart, and leave with a regulated nervous system, renewed spirit, and a gentle reminder that you are deeply supported.
RSVP
To keep this an intimate and comfortable experience, space is limited. Please RSVP by October 1 to confirm your attendance and receive the exact location details.
With warmth and solidarity,
Lani & Denette

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”
Proverbs 4:23
What we carry within us can shape how we move through the world. Sound healing offers a gentle space to pause, turn inward, and become more intentional about what we are holding onto and what we are ready to release.
Through soothing sound, stillness, breath, and reflection, we create room to reconnect with ourselves and make space for God’s peace.
Guarding your heart can begin with creating space for stillness, reflection, and renewal.
✨ Book your sound healing experience and make space for stillness.

Tranquility is not the absence of life’s noise. It is the practice of returning to peace, even within it. Join us next Thursday 7pm, for an immersive sound bath and community connection at Anderson Park.

A Prayer for Tired Mothers (Birth-ing Day Reflections)
May God wrap you in a protection so soft and so holy that every wound, spoken and unspoken, begins to breathe again. May He hold your heart in His hands and whisper to you that your life is still your own, your voice still matters, and your story is not finished.
May the One who sees the unseen labor of Black mothers, especially those who carry brilliance, burdens, and brokenness all at once, send you divine rest. Rest for your mind. Rest for your spirit. Rest for your tired, overworked body.
May God honor the sacrifice you never should have had to make. May He restore everything that was taken: your peace, your clarity, your strength, your joy, and the right to choose freely. May He surround you with people who uplift you, not use you; who support you, not silence you; who love you, not drain you.
I pray that healing flows to every part of you touched by trauma. I pray that abundance replaces scarcity, that softness replaces strain, and that your brilliance, wisdom, and resilience become a blessing for you, not another weight you carry alone.
And may your child(ren), some who may have been born out of complication, continue to grow into a living reminders that God can bring beauty out of pain, and new beginnings out of moments that felt impossible.
You are not alone. You are not forgotten. You are held, today and every day.
Amen
A heartfelt thank you to the City of Carson for inviting us to this year’s HR Fair! 💛
And thank you to everyone who stopped by our table, connected with us, and entered our raffle. It was wonderful meeting so many members of the community and sharing a little about the work we do to support rest, wellness, and wellbeing.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to connect and look forward to continuing to serve the Carson community! 🧘🏽♀️ ✨
Join us next week at 7 pm at Anderson Park for Tranquility Thursday!
Take a breath and give yourself permission to simply be here. Notice the rise and fall of your chest, the sounds around you, and the sensations moving through your body. You don’t have to fix anything or figure everything out in this moment. Just breathe, soften, listen, and return to yourself. Sometimes presence is the care we need most. 🤎

Just a little reminder to pause long enough to notice what’s already good.
The song that made you smile.
The meal that hit the spot.
The friend who checked in.
The sunlight on your skin.
The deep breath you didn’t realize you needed.
Life doesn’t have to be perfect for it to be beautiful.
Today, collect the little joys.
Name them.
Thank God for them.
Let them make your heart a little lighter. ✨
