Many women spend years preparing for menopause.
But what happens after?
Questions about bone health, heart health, brain health, sleep, muscle mass, mobility, and hormone changes don't suddenly disappear once menopause is over.
In fact, some of the most important wellness conversations happen in the years that follow.
That's why healthy aging isn't just about adding years to life.
It's about maintaining strength, independence, confidence, and quality of life.
Women deserve support and education at every stage, not just during the menopausal transition.
If you're 60+ or more than 10 years past menopause, what health topic do you wish people talked about more?
One of the biggest misconceptions about PCOS is that every woman experiences it the same way.
The truth is, two women can both have PCOS and have completely different symptoms, challenges, and health goals.
That's why a one-size-fits-all approach doesn't always work.
When I talk with women about PCOS, I encourage them to look beyond hormones alone. Factors like blood sugar balance, stress, sleep, nutrition, physical activity, and lifestyle habits can all play a role in how PCOS shows up in the body.
Understanding your unique pattern is often the first step toward making meaningful changes.
Simple strategies may include:
✔️ Choosing more anti-inflammatory foods
✔️ Focusing on lower glycemic carbohydrates
✔️ Prioritizing protein and balanced meals
✔️ Supporting healthy sleep and stress management habits
✔️ Working with your healthcare team to determine whether targeted supplements or hormone support may be appropriate for you
PCOS is about more than hormones. It's about understanding how your whole body works together.
When you begin supporting the whole system, you can often feel more empowered and confident in your health journey.
If you have PCOS, what's been your biggest challenge—weight management, irregular cycles, fatigue, skin concerns, or something else? I'd love to hear from you in the comments.

One of the biggest misconceptions I see is that weight loss is the finish line.
It's not.
Whether someone is using lifestyle changes, nutrition strategies, or GLP-1 medications, the bigger question becomes:
How do you maintain your results?
Long-term success often comes down to preserving muscle, supporting metabolism, managing nutrition, prioritizing protein, and creating sustainable habits that fit real life.
Because losing weight and maintaining a healthy weight are often two very different conversations.
The goal should never be to chase a number on the scale.
The goal is better health, more energy, and feeling your best for the long run.

Have you noticed more hair shedding since starting a GLP-1 medication?
If so, it's understandable to feel concerned.
One thing I often explain to patients is that hair shedding isn't necessarily caused by the medication itself. Sometimes it's the result of the significant changes your body is experiencing during weight loss.
When your body goes through a major shift, such as rapid weight loss, a significant calorie reduction, changes in nutrient intake, illness, surgery, or increased stress, it can affect the normal hair growth cycle.
As a result, more hair follicles may enter the resting phase at the same time. A few months later, those hairs begin to shed together, which can make the hair loss feel sudden and alarming.
The good news is that this type of shedding is often temporary.
If you're taking a GLP-1 medication, it's important to focus on the foundations that support overall health:
✔️ Prioritize protein intake
✔️ Make sure you're meeting your nutritional needs
✔️ Stay hydrated
✔️ Get adequate sleep
✔️ Monitor important nutrients with your healthcare provider when appropriate
Most importantly, don't ignore sudden changes in your hair, especially if they persist or worsen over time. Hair can sometimes provide valuable clues about what's happening inside the body.
Remember, successful weight loss isn't just about the number on the scale; it's about supporting your health every step of the way.

Many people assume that testing at home means less accurate results, but that’s not necessarily true.
Modern at-home test kits are designed to meet strict standards and can provide reliable information when used correctly.
What makes them helpful:
You can test in the comfort of your home
No long wait times or scheduling needed
Easier to stay consistent with follow-up testing
Tips for best results:
Always follow the instructions carefully
Collect your sample at the recommended time (some hormones vary by time of day)
Send your sample promptly to avoid delays
At-home testing is a convenient first step, and when paired with proper guidance, it can give valuable insight into your health.

Your Pharmacist Friend
Most women say the same thing:
"I'm just tired all the time."
"I guess that's just part of getting older."
As a pharmacist who works closely with women navigating perimenopause, menopause, and hormone changes, I want you to know something important:
Constant fatigue is not something you should simply accept.
Yes, life is busy. Many women are juggling careers, families, aging parents, relationships, and countless responsibilities. Stress absolutely plays a role. But when fatigue becomes your daily reality, it's worth looking deeper.
Women blame themselves for years, thinking they just weren't sleeping enough, exercising enough, eating well enough, or managing stress well enough.
The truth is that persistent fatigue can have many underlying causes.
Sometimes it's a hormone imbalance during perimenopause or menopause.
Sometimes it's poor sleep quality, even if you're spending plenty of time in bed.
Sometimes it's a nutrient deficiency, such as low iron, vitamin D, magnesium, or B vitamins.
And sometimes it's chronic stress that has kept your body running on empty for far too long.
What concerns me most is when women start believing that feeling exhausted every day is simply their new normal.
It isn't.
If you've been feeling tired no matter how much coffee you drink or how early you go to bed, don't ignore what your body may be trying to tell you.
Sometimes fatigue isn't just about getting older.
Sometimes it's a signal that your body needs a closer look.
Tell me below: Is fatigue something you've been struggling with lately?

Intermittent fasting has become incredibly popular for weight loss, metabolism, and blood sugar support.
But for women, there’s an important piece of the conversation that often gets overlooked: hormones.
Intermittent fasting may offer benefits such as:
• Supporting insulin sensitivity
• Helping with appetite regulation
• Encouraging fat burning
• Supporting metabolic health
For some women, especially those with PCOS, certain fasting approaches may also support hormone-related goals.
However, more isn't always better.
Long or aggressive fasting schedules may not be the best fit for everyone and can sometimes affect cortisol (your stress hormone), thyroid function, energy levels, mood, and menstrual cycles.
That’s why I encourage women to think beyond trends and focus on what works best for THEIR body.
The goal is to support your health sustainably. 💚
The goal isn't to punish your body into losing weight.
The goal is to support your health in a sustainable way. 💚
Wellness is rarely one-size-fits-all.
If you're considering intermittent fasting and have questions about how it may fit into your overall wellness goals, our team is here to help provide education and guidance.

Stop Wasting Money! Essential Supplements, Revealed by a Pharmacist
Are you spending money on supplements that aren't actually helping?
Every week, I talk to people who have a cabinet full of supplements but are still struggling with low energy, poor sleep, stress, and other health concerns.
The truth is, before chasing the latest health trend, it's important to focus on the basics.
Some of the most important foundational nutrients include:
✔️ Magnesium to support sleep, stress management, and healthy blood pressure
✔️ Vitamin D to support immune function, hormone health, and overall wellness
✔️ Omega-3s for heart health, brain function, and a healthy inflammatory response
✔️ A high-quality multivitamin to help fill nutritional gaps
Just as important as what you take is the quality of what you take.
Look for supplements that are third-party tested, properly dosed, and appropriate for your individual needs.
And remember, some supplements can interact with medications, so always have your pharmacist or healthcare provider review your supplement routine.
Supplements should support your health goals, not just take up space in your cabinet.
