Let’s Talk About Filters & Artificial Lighting in the Beauty Industry

I’m no stranger to these tools—artificial lighting can be incredibly useful when a location lacks natural light. Over the years, artists have also used filters & lighting enhancements to showcase their work. But often, this creates unrealistic expectations for brides and how they will actually look in person.

To the untrained eye, it can be difficult to tell which images are authentic & which have been altered. At BA, my goal is to showcase realistic bridal hair and makeup looks, offering achievable results through untouched images and natural light. By doing so, I hope to counteract the unrealistic portrayal of edited images & set a standard for bridal beauty that’s attainable.
