my life in photos ✨ feeling uber grateful for the people in my life, the changes I’m making to support myself and the faith I hold onto
A full body barre combo that looks simple, until your entire body starts shaking (you’re welcome)
The moves:
👉 start in a deep lunge with the front heel lifted onto the ball - think core stablized to help you balance. holding the lunge while circling the arms back in goal post lights up your shoulders, upper back, posture muscles
👉 extending the back leg while keeping the front leg bent challenges balance while targeting glutes, quads, hamstrings & those tiny stabilizing muscles through the ankle and foot. we add the narrow row fires up the lats, rhomboids, rear delts and help open the chest after hunching all day
👉 layer in the front raise as you lower into an active lunge (hello shoulders, hello core endurance) throughout the series of front raises, we’re working on stablization through that front foot
👉 hold the lunge, press the front heel down into the ball while to fire up the calf, ankle stabilizers, quads, glutes.
👉 we end with a squat, staying low and controlled
We’re all about the tiny movements & massive burn. this is why I love barre.
It’s not random. we’re working to balance, strengthen, stabilize, improve posture, endurance, coordination, and build mind to muscle connection all at once.
could anything truly be scarier? no thank you.
i’ve never received so many DMs about a studio
shout out to .ennen who humbled me in a great way - ps, she said she teaches 4 classes in a row, and my gosh, a superhuman. she did the entire class. full out. the ENTIRE time.
me on the other hand, i looked like a baby giraffe who just discovered limbs haha another shoutout to for trying all these things with me
the method is no cueing and no form corrections, which i think should be like a first time addition. with that said, it’s not very beginner friendly because form is not attended to - that’s a big one for me. as a fitness instructor, i was humbled but also a little nervous that someone could injure themselves if they don’t do the moves correctly (me included)
taylor warned me about the mental hangover, and it is real. the mental challenge was no joke - you’re following without being spoken to.
would i run back? probably not. would i do it again just to watch myself on video being completely humbled and uncomfortable, maybe.
all in all, i’m glad i tried it. have you tried it? drop the deets.
