Parents, sometimes the issue isn’t the hairstyle — it’s what happens AFTER the appointment. 😭
A protective style still needs protection, maintenance, and a little consistency at home if you want it to stay looking good.
Save this before your child’s next appointment, and send it to a parent who swears the style “only lasted a week.”
Before we diagnose that baby with “hair that just won’t grow”… let’s check the routine first. 😭
Because growth and length retention are two different things.
If the hair is constantly dry, breaking, overdue for trims, going too long between proper wash days, or not being protected at night, you may be losing the length just as fast as it’s coming in.
And baby… oil cannot carry the whole routine on its back. 😂
Healthy hair needs consistency, not random acts of hair care.

A good bonnet isn’t just something cute to throw on at bedtime — it helps protect the style you just paid for, reduces friction while they sleep, and helps keep their hair looking neater between appointments.
Our AMSI bonnets are double satin lined for extra protection, because there’s no reason we should be spending all that time getting their hair done just for them to go to sleep with nothing protecting it. 😭

At the Youth Braid Hangout, the girls don’t have to arrive already knowing how to braid. We slow everything down and give them space to practice using their combs, controlling their clips, creating sections, and parting with confidence.
They may not leave perfect—but they will leave more comfortable, more knowledgeable, and proud of what they accomplished. 🥹
