Retirement was supposed to be the finish line - but for me it became a new beginning. I finally have the time to devote to something I am very passionate about. Helping other women with their health & fitness journey!
I was stuck & couldn’t figure out why what I had been doing for 10 years was no longer working. Then last November I discovered the FASTer Way to Fat Loss and through their science-backed approach to nutrition, intermittent fasting & exercise, I found what I needed to feel whole again. I was losing fat & gaining strength & felt amazing! I was so excited about my progress, I decided to become a certified coach! I soon found out that it was much more than a certification but also an opportunity to lead with purpose & to guide other women through the same health breakthroughs I experienced. To build a flexible, fulfilling coaching career from the comfort of my home!

There are lots of ways to improve your mindset. Below are a few of the things I have been working on.

Having a consistent morning routine, even on a holiday is so important. I got up this morning at 5am, read personal development while I drank my pre-workout, did my 30 minute workout (day 2 of my current program) & then went on a hike with a friend. I then had a healthy protein packed breakfast & I am now ready for the festivities of the day. You always need to prioritize yourself. What did you do to put yourself first today?

Are you one of those people who crash diets to lose all the weight, then puts it right back on? Do you struggle with staying consistent? Do you find it tough to stay motivated or alway make excuses like you don't have the time? I can relate because this was me!
I was a classic yo-yoer. I would stay consistent for awhile when I needed to lose the weight for a special event or vacation but then I would put it all back on. I would stay consistent with my workouts until life got in the way & then I would just stop.
I learned there is no way to get healthy and stay healthy without consistency. Once I made a commitment to myself to work out consistently and follow a simple, easy but healthier meal plan and made it a lifestyle instead of a quick fix, I was able to enjoy life more & keep the weight off.

Have you ever felt like you have a special bond with ladies that you’ve never met? You talk to them almost every day because you are part of the same community but have not had an opportunity to meet them in person?
This week was our annual coach summit in San Antonio but I was not able to attend due to some prior commitments. This is when all the coaches meet to learn, grow, recognize those who have achieved success in their business, do group workouts with our Super Trainers & just be together.
These ladies are the ones who help me get up every morning & push play. Who cheer each other on & are there for one another when someone is having a bad day or going thru a rough time. We live all over the US & even Canada but that doesn’t keep us from sharing our hopes, dreams, struggles & milestones each & every day! I may not have had a chance to meet them yet, but the connection & bond we share is real & amazing!

Today was one of those days that I had to really motivate myself to get up & push play on my workout.
🔅my body was tired
🔅I didn’t sleep real well
🔅it was raining & I just wanted to stay under the covers & listen to the it beating against the window.
However, I knew that this was not going to get my day off to a good start. So, I got up, drank my pre-workout, put on a cute workout outfit & pushed play. We will never regret the things we do to make us healthier & stronger but we will regret when we don’t push ourselves in that direction.
So get up, put on a cute workout outfit & get it done!

Did you know I was 56 when I really started to take my health seriously? Did I have the mindset that it was too late for me at that age to get healthy? Not at all. Did I think it was going to take more time or take more effort - possibly. My metabolism was certainly not that of a 25 or 30 year old anymore.
The things that really helped me turn my health around & make it a lifestyle were
⚡️Consistency - I had to get into a routine
Variety - I needed to be doing new & exciting workouts
✨Nutrition - I needed to fuel my body with healthy foods
⚡️Mindset - I needed to believe in myself & realize I could do hard things
✨Community - I needed to surround myself with people who were struggling and also having success in doing the same things I was.

Almost 7 years ago, I decided that if I wanted to truly get healthy & be around for my grandkids, that I had to make a change. The long commute to/from work made it very easy not to go to the gym & I wasn’t focused on my nutrition at all😔
A friend reached out & suggested at home workouts. I was never much of an at home workout person but since going to the gym wasn’t working any longer, I said why not🤷♀️I was hooked immediately by the short 20-30 minute workouts & with the nutrition programs they offered, I started to eat healthier too. Then because I loved what I was a doing so much & how it made me feel, I decided I wanted to help other women that were over 50 see that it was not too late to start on their own health journey.
