Did some self care today and did my toes (fingernails not shown) today. My mental health is taking a hit with everything going on. Like many others. So tried to do a little something for myself along with a nice bath w/ epsom salt, essential oils and bubbles. Do what you can to cope. Impressed I didn’t f**k it up lol 💕

Happy Friday! Enjoying my day off. And excited to be able to wear sleeves lol. It’s a glorious 60 degrees here today. I love fall weather. Can’t see it but my hair is green now 💚 One of the fun things about short hair. And a little something I like to do for myself to feel better and give me a little confidence. Doing things for yourself no matter how little can help boost your confidence. I do a lot of little things often. A face mask, color hair or nails, a bath, burn some incense, read a good book etc. You know what they say, ‘it’s the little things’. And I believe it.

Week 2 Just gonna say instead of going by days, I have decided to go by weeks this month lol. A busy single mom who struggles with medical and mental health issues, life gets in the way and not enough hours in the day! Which brings me to today’s subject, Sleep 😴One of my biggest issues! For one I’m super nocturnal and I also have restless leg syndrome and it wakes me up 2-4 hours after I fall asleep every dang night 😒 But I’m working on that. Every day I say I’m gonna go to bed earlier and here I am almost 11pm posting haha. I know how important it is to get adequate sleep and I know some people do just fine on less than the standard amount. Just another goal to set for myself. It’s so important for mental and health in general. I know for me, if I get less than 4-5 I am a emotional mess lol. I need at least 7.5 I have learned about the 5 stages of sleep and most people do 4 stages. 1-2 is light, 3-4 is deep and then there’s REM (dream state). Each cycle is about 90 minutes and it’s best to wake up after a cycle and not during it. From what I read it can still make you tired if you do. I have tried the app. It’s helpful. I also use my Apple Watch to help me keep track. Worth a try if you are struggling and want to try to keep track and improve.

Day 3, Self Care + Love. Mindfulness, meditation is a great tool to self care and learning to be more calm, relaxed, introspective and so much. It’s wonderful for your mental health. It can be hard to sit still or calm the mind for long periods especially when starting. Start small, even a few minutes at a time. And gradually work your way up. It’s something I’m still working on myself but I can say it definitely helps me relax and it’s a great way to fall asleep. Guided meditation videos/audio is great. I use a lot on YouTube and also with a app called I highly recommend trying if you haven’t before. The mind is a powerful thing.

Day 2 You are enough, always have and always will. Loving yourself is a process and it begins here realizing you are enough and then some. Stop thinking less of yourself. Ignore all those people that speak negatively and stop listening to that internal part of you that always says all those bad things about you. It might seem silly or weird at first but the more you do it, the more it’ll stick and you’ll realize how amazing you truly are and you deserve to be treated as such. Say it aloud, write and say inside. Repetitive positive affirmations really works. Takes a few weeks to create a habit, why not a healthy one? 🤷🏻♀️

Day 1 of Self Care + Love. Just wanted to share quickly before the night is over. One of the things I like and try to do daily is juicing. First thing in the morning before eating anything I will have about 12 ounces of fresh juice. It’s good for digestion and a good way to get some of those many servings of vegetables and fruits we need daily. I have a hard time eating that much and juicing is the easiest way to absorb the nutrients quickly. As someone that has a autoimmune disease, it’s good to do this. I do consume some veggies and fruits to eating but not enough. I made 4 days worth tonight. As you can see I juiced; celery, cucumbers, apples and carrots. I did add some kale and cilantro not pictured but not really much comes from it lol. I think eating and blending is better with those but I did it anyway lol. I also add fresh squeezed lemon juice in the morning right before I drink it. It has a little sweet and sour taste, I enjoy it. You might also. Lastly I also use cheesecloth to help strain it. I hate any pulp or anything so this is perfect. I do it twice every time I juice and no pulp or anything! Does anyone else juice? Have any favorite combinations?
