Rockwood Roots

🌿 A little sneak peek at something new! 🌿

One of the things I’ve wanted to add to Rockwood Roots is a variety of air plants… but of course, it wouldn’t be me without adding a crafty side to it. 😂

While the air plants will be available on their own, I’ll also be offering two handmade display options:

🌱 Glass globes with macramé hangers
🌱 Handmade pottery trays for counters, desks, windowsills, shelves—or wherever you want a little green!

I’m already SO excited about how these pottery prototypes are developing! 🥰

Sadly, they won’t be fired and glazed in time for Downriver Plant Fest in a couple weeks, BUT they’ll be ready to make their debut at the Michigan Plant Show in Waterford on December 5th just in time for the holiday season! 🪴💚

✨ Sticker success! ✨

New Rockwood Roots stickers arrived yesterday! 💧🔥🌱

The printing company I chose was about half the price of the others I looked at, so I was a little nervous about the quality—but they absolutely exceeded my expectations.

Right now I just have the 2.5” size, but now that I know the quality is solid, I’ll be ordering a small batch of bumper stickers next! 💚

I can’t wait for the day these are tucked into every Rockwood Roots order. Until then, come say hi at a vendor market and pick one up! 🌿

✨🇺🇸 Celebrate Independence Day with Handmade Treasures! 🇺🇸✨

If you’re spending the holiday up north in the Gladwin area, we’d love to see you!

Rockwood Roots will be at the Sugar Springs Art & Craft Show this Saturday, July 4, from 10 AM – 3 PM.

This event will feature our Nourish and Transform pillars:

🧼 All-natural soaps
🧴 Handcrafted lotions
🌱 Nourishing salves
🕯️ Clean-burning all natural wax melts
🏺 Handmade incense burners

Our handcrafted incense completely sold out after our last event (thank you! ❤️), so we won’t have any available at this show—but we’ll be busy making a fresh batch in time for our fall events!

I’m also excited to be vending alongside my mom, Sherry’s Naturals! Be sure to stop by and check out her beautiful handcrafted pine needle baskets, pine needle art, dreamcatchers, and other one-of-a-kind creations.

Whether you’re looking for natural body care, handcrafted gifts, or simply want to stop by and say hello…

We hope to see you there! 🇺🇸🌿💥

✨🌿 Grateful for a Day of Growth and Connection 🌿✨

What an incredible day at the Downriver Plant Fest—even if Mother Nature decided to keep things interesting for a little while! 💦

Thank you to the organizers (Jardín Encantado), volunteers, sponsors, other vendors, and everyone who came out to support local businesses and share a love of plants.

To any new followers joining Rockwood Roots—welcome! Today I featured the Grow pillar of the business, but Rockwood Roots is built on three pillars: Grow (all things plants), Nourish (all natural soaps, lotions, salves, and body products), and Transform (handmade pottery, wax melts, and incense).

For anyone who brought one of my plants home today, thank you. If you ever have questions, need help, or simply want to share how your plant is doing, please feel free to reach out. And please share photos along the way—I would love to watch them grow and thrive in their new homes, and perhaps even see them reward you with a bloom someday 🌸🌼🌺

One of the goals behind Rockwood Roots has always been to help nurture growth and learning—not just sell products. Every plant I share has received a lot of care, and some even come from mother-plants originally passed down from my grandparents.

Thank you for making today such a memorable experience. 💚🌱

🌱 From Roots to Reality — Learning Never Stops 📚🤓

While I’ve been a nearly lifelong gardener — and come from a multi-generational line of gardeners and plant lovers — I always try to keep an open mind and continue learning wherever I can.

One of my favorite plant influencers, Tanner The Planter, just released his new book — and I didn’t hesitate to grab a copy. 📕

I’ve followed Tanner’s journey for years. I’ve learned a lot from his approach and have incorporated some of his techniques into my own plant care — especially the chopstick method for watering.

So while I’m just beginning to dive into the book itself, I feel confident saying this is one I’m genuinely excited to support. The presentation alone is beautiful — thoughtful, clean, and clearly created with intention.

I’ll be sharing a full review once I’ve had time to really sit with it over the next few days — but so far, I already have high expectations 🌿

Please don’t hesitate to pick up a copy, generally where ever books are sold.
