MVP Recovery’s SHIELD Coordinator, Corporal Leo Francis Doyle of the Ridley Township Police Department, recently visited the RCA RESCU program, in MD, alongside Officer Andrew Graff of the Springfield Township Police Department, a member of the Delaware County Lodge No 27 FOP Wellness Team.

The visit is part of SHIELD’s multi-state initiative to evaluate treatment centers offering specialized first responder programs. Using the SHIELD toolkit, these visits assess program quality and responsiveness to the unique needs of first responders, helping guide referrals to high-quality, appropriate care.

SHIELD’s innovative first responder warm handoff model has made a powerful impact in its first year, helping those who serve our communities overcome barriers and connect with support. We’re grateful to our treatment and community partners for helping make this work possible.

MVP Recovery’s S.H.I.E.L.D. program is featured on the front page of today’s Delaware County Daily Times, and the story belongs to the first responders and families who have trusted us enough to reach out.

In its first year, S.H.I.E.L.D. had 71 engagements, with 100% connected to care. The program offers confidential, around-the-clock support, clinical services, and a weekly drop-in space where first responders can connect with peers who understand the work.

UPPER DARBY, WE’RE HERE. 💙

For years, community partners have asked MVP Recovery to bring our services to Upper Darby. This week, we celebrated the grand opening of our new Behavioral Health Access Center on Garrett Road, near 69th Street. The center provides behavioral health outpatient treatment and connects people to all levels of care.

With the loss of vital healthcare services in this community, access to care matters more than ever. We’re proud to offer a walk-in access point where people can get connected to support from an experienced team of medical, clinical, and recovery professionals.

That team includes psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, RNs, licensed clinicians, certified recovery specialists, and certified peer specialists. Together, they bring MVP’s comprehensive model of care, including medication assisted treatment, to the Upper Darby community.

Thank you to our county and state leaders, Upper Darby Township Police Department, Delaware County Department of Human Services, the SCA, Delaware County District Attorney’s Office, fellow providers, and community advocates who joined us to celebrate. We’re grateful for your partnership and committed to serving this community for years to come.

Save a Life Day: Narcan Saves Lives

MVP Recovery was proud to participate in Save a Life Day by distributing free Narcan at our centers throughout Delaware and Chester counties.

Narcan can reverse an opioid overdose and restore breathing within minutes. Having it nearby, and knowing how to use it, can save a life.

Free Narcan is available through MVP Recovery every day. Call 855-MVP-2410 to schedule a pickup at one of our centers. Agencies and community groups can also contact us to arrange Narcan training with our registered nurses and medical professionals.
