Walk with Rotary to End Polio! ๐ด๐ถโโ๏ธ๐ป
Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 24th from 2:00 PM โ 5:00 PM! The Detroit Lakes Noon Rotary and Detroit Lakes Morning Rotary are teaming up to participate in the Worldโs Largest Polio Walk, and the whole community is invited to join us!
World Polio Day is October 24th, and we are bringing Detroit Lakes together for a fun, flexible afternoon of walking, fellowship, and giving back. Since Rotary launched its global eradication campaign in 1985, polio cases worldwide have dropped by 99.9%โand we won't stop until we reach 100%!
๐ถโโ๏ธ How It Works:
There is no rigid starting line or official group march! You get to chart your own course:
Choose Your Route: Walk between Bucks Mill Brewing and Lakeside Tavern & Brewery, take a scenic stroll along the new beach boardwalk, or craft your own path through town.
Stop by the Rotary's designated meet-ups (2:00 PM โ 5:00 PM): Both Bucks Mill Brewing (Noon Club Station) and Lakeside Tavern & Brewery (Morning Club Station โ Upstairs) will have official Rotary info tables set up.
Learn & Connect: Stop by either hub to learn about Rotary's global health efforts, watch videos on polio eradication, chat with local Rotarians, and drop a contribution into the donation box!
Wear Your Colors: Wear red or rock your Rotary gear to show your support!
Whether youโre walking for fitness, enjoying a crisp autumn beverage with friends, or stopping by the hubs to support a life-saving global cause, everyone in Lakes Country is welcome!
Letโs walk, raise awareness, and finish the fight together. End Polio Now! ๐ด

How can our community improve? With YOUR input! ๐
One of our own fellow Rotarians, Vanessa, is working hard alongside local health leaders to bring the right care, resources, and wellness initiatives directly to Detroit Lakes and Becker County!
Every three years, the Community Health Improvement Survey gathers feedback from local residents to understand our area's true health and well-being needs. A partnership of local health care providers and community groups then uses these results to directly guide their work, improve local care, and launch targeted wellness programs.
Taking this survey takes just a few quick minutes, but your input makes a tremendous, lasting difference for our community!
๐ฒ How to participate:
Simply scan the QR code on the flyer attached to take the quick survey right from your phone!
You can also visit this site to comlete the survey https://sanford.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_da0yKYeGPYI8Wx0
Thank you for taking a few moments to help guide the future of health and wellness in Detroit Lakes! ๐๐

Wow... what a week!
2.... 2 new members inducted this week! Joe Vesey of Vesey Plumbing & HVAC and Rebecca Dahlberg of The BIG DL: Event Center and Rebecca Dahlberg. Both were brought in by Justin Dahlberg
We also had a FANTASTIC presentation by our member Tina Johnson Jaster of the Rural Minnesota CEP. Very engaging, informational, and Tina's even got some jokes! The opportunities they are providing to the community cannot be overlooked. If you know anyone looking for a job, training, or any kind of employment assistance, this is where they should start!
Thank you to everyone who came out for the Community Blood Screening event!
