The Chinese Lion Dance workshop by The Shaolin Arts Center

We are excited to announce a new addition to the lineup for the Roc-A-Natural Cultural Foundation Inc's 3rd Annual Fall Freedom Festival at Tappen Park, presented in collaboration with NYC Parks and Partnerships for Parks!

The Shaolin Arts Center will be joining us to lead an interactive 30-minute Chinese Lion Dance Workshop at 1:00pm.

During this session, participants will learn about this traditional performance art, where dancers mimic a lion's movements inside a costume to bring good luck, prosperity, and happiness. It is a staple of Lunar New Year celebrations, weddings, business openings, and cultural festivals.

This workshop is perfect for ages 5 to adults. We hope to see you there!

Peach: Auntie, I want you to try my Deep Collagen Power Boosting Mask.

Me: Ohhh...this feels nice. How often do I need to do this?

Peach: Once a week!

Me: How about once a month? This could be costly.

Peach: Absolutely NOT!

I don't know about once a week. I'm saving up for more important things like repairing my roof:)

Exposing a history buried so deep!

My mother and I were thrilled to attend the Black Cherry Lane exhibit, meet some of the artists, family members and connect with Heather Quinlan, the visionary behind this monumental, educational, and inspirational exhibit. It sheds necessary light on a vital piece of our history: the erased history of the historic Cherry Lane Cemetery.

The Black Cherry Lane exhibit will remain at Empire Outlets until October 25, 2026. To learn more, visit blackcherrylane.org.

Thank you, P.S. 175, The Henry Garnet School in Harlem for inviting Ranger D to represent the National Park Service at your Resource Fair today! The parents were thrilled to learn about the National Parks of New York Harbor and resources available to them and their children, such as Every Kid Outdoors for 4th Graders to obtain free entry for 1 year to any National Park and NPS' Read With A Ranger program to support children's literacy and bring awareness to our 22 sites in the New York and New Jersey area. The give-a-ways were a hit for all! Find your park by visiting www.nps.gov/npnh.

Fall-elujah, it's Fall!  The leaves have begun to fall. Bright green, red, orange, and yellow are the vibrant fall follage colors.

It's a new season; it's a new day.  Looking forward to the continual  blessings coming our way.  It's a season of power and prosperity. It's a new season and I'm just loving the feeling!
