Rich, buttery, slow-melting and silky, this is my long-glide massage balm—created with tallow, botanical oils, mango butter and a beautiful essential-oil blend that gives you enough slip for an actual massage without leaving your skin feeling coated in something artificial.

Rich in skin-loving fatty acids that help soften, condition and support the skin’s natural moisture barrier. It gives MELT that luxurious, cushiony feel as it warms against the body.

GINGER-INFUSED JOJOBA
One of my favorite parts of this formula. Jojoba is beautifully compatible with skin, while the ginger infusion brings a warm, grounding botanical element that feels especially lovely worked into tired shoulders, backs, legs and feet.

MEADOWFOAM SEED OIL
Silky, lightweight and incredibly stable. It helps give MELT that smooth, elegant glide without making it feel overly greasy.

SUNFLOWER OIL
Naturally rich in linoleic acid and vitamin E—wonderful for softening dry skin and supporting the skin barrier.

MANGO BUTTER

Okay…this one has some pretty cool science behind two surprisingly simple ingredients. 🤓

And here’s something that surprised me:

Nearly HALF of Americans aren’t getting enough magnesium from their diet.

NIH data shows about 48% of Americans consume less magnesium from food and beverages than their estimated requirement.

MAGNESIUM 🖤

Magnesium is an essential mineral involved in hundreds of processes throughout the body, including:

• normal muscle contraction + relaxation
• nerve signaling
• cellular energy production
• electrolyte balance
• normal nervous-system function

Basically…our muscles and nerves are pretty darn fond of magnesium. 😂

But what about putting it ON your skin?

That’s where things get interesting.

Several small human studies have investigated topical magnesium, including magnesium chloride sprays and creams. The research is still developing, but there have been intriguing findings involving magnesium levels and muscle-related symptoms.

One Mayo Clinic pilot using magnesium chloride spray reported improvements in fibromyalgia-impact scores. Another controlled pilot using magnesium cream found a larger rise in serum magnesium in the magnesium group, although the overall difference between groups wasn’t statistically significant.

There is still a LOT to learn about exactly how much magnesium crosses the skin — but topical magnesium is definitely an interesting area of emerging research. 🤓

AND THEN THERE’S MSM ✨

MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) is a naturally occurring sulfur-containing compound.

Sulfur plays an important role in structural proteins and connective tissues, and MSM has been studied for:

• oxidative stress + inflammatory signaling
• skin health

And here’s what makes MSM especially interesting in a topical formula:

MSM has been investigated for its potential to influence skin permeability — essentially affecting how substances move through the skin.

🖤 SAVAGE SWISH

Long before modern toothpaste, mouthwash, and whitening strips, many cultures practiced a ritual now known as oil pulling—swishing oil through the mouth as part of a daily hygiene routine. Historical references to this practice date back thousands of years in Ayurvedic traditions, where sesame oil was especially valued and used as part of everyday self-care.

That history fascinated me.

Not because I believe the old ways were perfect, but because I believe there's often wisdom worth preserving.

So, as always...

I started with the plants.

Instead of creating just another oil pulling blend, I wanted to craft something that felt intentional. Something that honored tradition while using ingredients I personally wanted in my own daily ritual.

At the heart of Savage Swish is organic sesame oil, slowly infused with whole clove buds. Sesame oil has been used for generations in traditional oil pulling, while cloves have a long history of use in oral care because of their warm, aromatic nature.

From there, I built the formula with purpose.

🥥 Liquid Coconut Oil contributes a clean mouthfeel and has become a favorite base in many modern oil-pulling blends.

A carefully balanced blend of peppermint and spearmint creates a clean, refreshing finish, while frankincense and myrrh add a connection to some of the oldest botanicals in recorded history.

For thousands of years, these aromatic tree resins have been prized in cultures throughout the Middle East, Africa, and the Mediterranean. Myrrh, in particular, has an especially long association with oral care and was traditionally incorporated into mouth rinses, tooth powders, and preparations used to freshen the mouth and care for the gums. Frankincense has likewise been cherished for centuries for its clean, resinous aroma and its role in traditional wellness and ceremonial practices.

I love including them not because they're trendy, but because they remind us that people have been caring for themselves with botanicals for generations. They bring a beautiful depth to the blend and help connect this modern ritual to a much older story.
