Hello and welcome! Massage is something I've practiced actively since 2005. Sounds simple right? I hope that you'll be next and book a session with me today.

My observances of the mind-body connection has evolved to the point that I believe posture, movement awareness and well being are all linked. For example my shoulders are more limber and relaxed when I'm good with my self care. I notice a difference in my giving of massage and giving a deep tissue session doesn't wear on my body as much. There's that pleasant ripple effect through out my life that

Authentic Relating 6-8pm Saturday 7/18, 8/8, 9/12: https://SpringSnowMassage.as.me/InPersonAuthenticRelatingClass

External doors lock at 6:05pm and I charge $5 for this class. 8 people maximum with deference going to folks that book ahead of time.

Address:1245 Charnelton St suite 8, Eugene, OR 97402

Sara Ness (co-founder of AR) published a new AR book recently that I'll offer some new games from in addition to the "hits" that have worked well over the past four years.

If you choose to attend Authentic Relating hosted by Gabriel SpringSnow LMT, you are choosing to explore your implicit bias.  You'll practice reflective listening, play some AR games at an agreeable "spice" level with those that choose to attend and share observations about your process.

The 5 agreements of Authentic Relating (AR) create a framework that, when followed, can create a safe space for you to take care of just yourself and trust that the "other" is doing the same. This "AR" space differs from the "autopilot" social contracts you experience daily by illuminating the implicit relational habits we have all learned since growing into adulthood.

Disclaimer: While I hope that this class is very therapeutic for you, I am neither a trained therapist nor am I encouraging therapy to happen during these classes. I do have a referral network of licensed therapists that I'd be happy to refer you to if that is a need you have.  This class is not an appropriate venue for "trauma dumping."

As many of the relating games can bring up strong emotions as you play with these concepts, I have learned to go over the "why" of each agreement before every class and have a non-negotiable pre-requisite to be that you are able to meditate in self reflection for 3 minutes.  If you think you will not be able to perform this, you are welcome to book my next "Somatic" discussion lab class offering.

The five agreements;

Respect yourself.

Lean into your edge.

Stay present.

Confidentiality upon request.

Check your assumptions.

I enjoyed this TikTok and believe it to be "poly-vagal theory" informed. I hope this person's opinions give you some food for thought on the human experience.

I'll be hosting another Somatic Disscusion group at my downtown massage office 6-8pm June 27nth after volunteering at Eugene Pride. Booking link below.

Happy mother's day.

I hope that I get to see a healthier cultural relationship with post-natal care for mamas and papas in my life time. Here's an interview with an expert in their field discussing their work and personal experience with cesarean sections.

If you know a new mama or papa, consider sharing this video with them.
