This little beauty is growing in my garden that I started this summer. 🌱☀️ It has been so exciting watching these plants grow, learning from them, and seeing what nature has to teach me along the way.

🍯 Honey’s Plant Chronicles: Passionflower 🌿

It only feels right that the very first herb in this series is Passionflower...

A while back, I remember telling Layna how badly I wanted Passionflower growing around our property. I dreamed of seeing those incredible blooms climbing across a fence, wrapping around a tree, and becoming part of our little piece of land.

Then something amazing happened...

She showed up. ✨

Not just one vine—but tiny little Passionflower babies started popping up all over our yard, almost like nature had heard me calling for her.

We made sure to leave the ones growing beside our future fire pit. They’re staying right where they are for now because I can already picture those beautiful vines becoming part of our outdoor oasis. 🌱🔥

The more I learn about this incredible plant, the more I fall in love with her. Beyond her herbal uses, Passionflower is a stunning climbing vine that can stretch up to 30 feet long and produce some of the most breathtaking flowers you’ll ever see.

🌿 What Passionflower is traditionally known for:

✨ Supporting relaxation and a sense of calm
✨ Traditionally used in herbal practices for occasional anxiety and nervous tension
✨ Often enjoyed as part of a bedtime routine to support restful sleep
✨ Known for its antispasmodic properties and traditionally used to help relax the body
✨ The dried aerial parts (leaves, stems, and flowers) are commonly used to make teas and tinctures

But I think my favorite part of this plant isn’t just what she can do...

It’s how she found me.

I wasn’t searching anymore. I had simply put the wish out into the universe—and then one day, there she was, growing right here at home.

Sometimes nature has a funny way of giving us exactly what we need, exactly when we need it. 🌙

I truly believe that when you slow down, walk barefoot through your yard, and pay attention… nature has a way of showing up for you. She provides. She teaches. She connects us back to ourselves.

🌿 Meet the Woman Behind The Honey Pot 🍯

Hey y'all! I'm Honey, and I'm so happy you're here.

If you've found this page, chances are you're curious about herbs, plants, natural living, or maybe you're just wondering what exactly The Honey Pot is all about. So I figured the best place to start is at the beginning.

My journey with plants didn't start because I grew up knowing herbalism. Quite the opposite.

Like a lot of people, I was taught that anything growing where it wasn't "supposed to" was a w**d. We sprayed it, mowed over it, or pulled it out without giving it a second thought.

That all changed in 2018 when I moved back home to the Ozarks.

One afternoon our neighbor mowed his yard, and instead of smelling fresh-cut grass, the whole place smelled like onions. I remember thinking, "What in the world?" I had to know what caused it.

It was wild onion.

That tiny moment sparked a curiosity that completely changed my life.

If wild onions had been growing around me my whole life, what else had I been walking past without ever noticing?

So I started researching.

And researching...

And researching some more.

I discovered that so many of the plants we call w**ds are actually edible, medicinal, nutritious, and incredibly valuable. Dandelions, plantain, chickw**d, violets, mullein, yarrow, passionflower...the list just kept growing.

One of my favorite things I've learned through herbalism is this:

Your w**d and my w**d are two completely different things.

What some people see as something to kill, I see as food, medicine, pollinator habitat, or a gift from nature.

The deeper I dug, the more questions I had. That curiosity led me down rabbit holes about our food system, pharmaceuticals, industrial farming, and how disconnected we've become from the natural world.

I realized I wanted something different.

I wanted to know where my food came from.

I wanted to understand the plants growing around me.

I wanted to learn the traditions our ancestors once knew so well.

I wanted to rely more on nature and less on convenience.

That doesn't mean I think herbs replace modern medicine or that everyone should live exactly the way I do. It simply means I've chosen to learn all I can about the gifts the earth provides and to use that knowledge responsibly.

That's how The Honey Pot was born.

This little business is more than teas, bath soaks, herbal creations, or handmade goods.

It's a place to share knowledge.

To inspire curiosity.

To encourage people to step outside and really see the world around them.

To remind people that nature has always had something to teach us if we're willing to slow down and listen.

Around here you'll find herbal education, plant spotlights, foraging adventures, gardening, recipes, handmade products, and plenty of stories from my own journey—successes, mistakes, and everything in between.

I'm still learning every single day, and I probably always will be. That's one of my favorite parts of this path. The more I learn, the more I realize there is still so much to discover.

Life has been life-ing, and The Honey Pot has been a little quieter than usual. But behind the scenes, I've still been dreaming, growing, learning, and planning.

I'm so excited to get back to sharing herbal goodness, tea, little bits of nature, and all the magic that inspired this journey in the first place. 🍯✨
