Gulf Breeze Health/Beauty

Our family welcomes you to an inside look at Port Sullivan Farms! We are a family of 7 attempting to run a small homestead.

We are starting small w/ chickens & herb gardening. We will use this page to share what we learn, accomplish, and have to offer.

This is JJ. She is our first pullet from our project cross. We have a French Cuckoo Marans rooster over our chocolate egger (technically an olive egger). Hoping she carries the same bloom as her Mama!

While grilling tonight, I snagged some pictures of a few grow outs. A male and female Silver Laced Orpington, and a Crele Orpington pullet. Love these beautiful birds.

Our little homestead was on the Western side of the eye wall. They are now saying we were in what was called a Sting Jet. Praise the Lord, all animal structures held up. The pigs were given two covered options, and allowed to roam free in the backyard. Wilbur was unphased until we got to the Cat 2 winds. Our family, our home, our structures and animals all survived. Praying for those in our community and amongst the path of Isaias that were not prepared for that Sting Jet!

Praying for our friends, families, and homesteaders on the Emerald Coast. Y’all stay safe out there today!

One of our cockerel grow outs!!!

We are working on our first real project over here. We are taking our chocolate olive egger hen and have bred her to our Maran rooster to see if we can reproduce the dark olive eggs! We have one pullet for sure, our other grow out is following the pattern of another pullet we have, but still young enough that it could end up being a cockerel. Hoping for Spring eggs and to see what this breeding produces!

It’s been hot. We’ve been quiet. Trying to keep everyone from stressing. A storm is rolling in and bringing some nice wind with it!

If your Orpingtons don’t have hoop skirts, get you a new breeder. 🤭😍

So excited to watch our Orpingtons develop! They are so beautiful, and so fluffy with the sweet personalities you’d expect!

We hatched these beauties from A Wing And A Prayer Homestead!
