That’s because all brown even ash browns have red and copper in them. The sun, chlorine, tanning bed, and salt water will accelerate color fading and can actually lighten the hair up exposing warmth.

An easy way to fix this, and help you feeling cute this summer is to get a gloss/toner! It will refresh your hair cancelling any unwanted brassy or reddish tones. It will bring life back to reds/violets and coppers that have faded and gotten dull. OR can get rid of unwanted brass in blonds keeping them icy or cool toned.

Color corrections are never a one-size-fits-all service.

This sweet new client came in hoping for a dimensional, blended, lived-in bronde. Unfortunately, the color she left her previous appointment with wasn’t at all what she had envisioned. Let’s just say the starting point was giving Kelly Clarkson circa 2004. 😅

She found me on Instagram, and while corrective color isn’t something I showcase often, she trusted me to help get her closer to the low-maintenance, lived-in look she was after. Challenge accepted. ✅

When you’re working to erase harsh lines and soften strong grow-out bands, the approach isn’t always as straightforward as a traditional color appointment. It requires strategy, patience, and realistic expectations. While we knew one session probably wouldn’t get us all the way to her end goal, today was a huge step in the right direction. 👏

The best part? We created a more balanced canvas that will make future appointments more predictable and allow us to keep moving toward her dream hair while prioritizing the integrity of her hair every step of the way.

And before anyone comes for me yes, I need her to come back during daylight hours because this video (and dirty camera lens 🫣) do not do this transformation justice. Hair color can look completely different depending on the lighting, and sometimes the camera just refuses to capture the magic.

Hair color is a journey, especially when corrective work is involved, and realistic expectations are always part of the consultation process. Today was proof that progress is still worth celebrating. ❤️

This client was booked for a full blonding appointment BUT we only did a partial placement because I educated her on why.

Normally she likes to wait a bit longer in between sessions due to her busy schedule! However when she sat down I assessed her hair, we talked about her goals and we agreed she didn’t need a full.

She loves a low maintenance look and doesn’t always have the time to sit for 4-5 hours for a full transformation.

Because she came back sooner than normal (while also taking her goals into consideration) we were able to do a partial placement with a similar impact saving her time and money.
