So guys and girls the Tennessee Board of Nursing has changed some policies.
As per always RN’s cannot see clients without a provider seeing client first, diagnosing them and then prescribing the treatment. The RN can then do the treatment.
So RN’s who are seeing clients and injecting Botox or fillers without provider seeing first are doing so illegally.
Also they have changed policy on “Botox” parties and those are no longer allowed. All services have to be done at medical spa location.

Make sure to always ask credentials of who is doing your injections..
must me a provider(MD,NP. Or PA) on site do pop up “botix” parties and Rn injection with no provider on site .
Illegal and can be dangerous.
Have to work within scope and diagnosis for Botox and fillers requires advanced liscence.

* Botox and filler injections: An RN may be able to administer cosmetic injections ONLY if they are doing so under the appropriate authorization and supervision of a licensed provider who is legally permitted to perform those procedures. The RN cannot independently evaluate a patient, determine candidacy, prescribe the medication, or establish the treatment plan.
* Off-site location with no provider physically present: This is where it becomes more complex. Tennessee law does not simply allow an RN to independently operate an aesthetic injection clinic away from the supervising provider
