Kalisha Nance founded Demeanor Models in 2017 after spending more than a decade modeling on and off. Standing just 5 feet tall, she often faced barriers within the modeling industry, where height standards limited opportunities. Rather than allowing those challenges to define her, Kalisha chose to create her own path—one that would also open doors for other models experiencing similar obstacles.
Through Demeanor Models, Kalisha built a platform rooted in opportunity, confidence, and representation. The annual Demeanor Models calendars quickly became something fans eagerly anticipated each year. What began as calendars soon expanded into large-scale fashion shows, eventually evolving into the Demeanor High Fashion Gala, a major success that brought together models, designers, and creatives from across the community.
Kalisha later intertwined her vision with Buttered Magazine, where she has continued to thrive, contributing to the success of edition after edition and further amplifying diverse talent within the fashion and creative industries.
Above all, Kalisha is a proud mother of three. She has a masters degree in social work and has worked in the veteran population for over a decade. She enjoys singing, creating memories, and spending quality time with her family, friends, and loved ones. She remains committed to doing what she loves and inspiring others along the way.
Her advice to everyone is simple yet powerful: keep being great and stay true to yourself. Kalisha extends heartfelt thanks to everyone for their continued love and support—it’s what has kept her going.
