I truly believe the quality of our relationships can determine the quality of our lives.

When things aren’t well in our personal lives, it has a way of spilling into everything else… our health, work, dreams, & even how we show up for ourselves.

I think we’ve all had seasons where simply showing up felt heavier than anyone around us knew.

But sometimes those seasons become the ones that change us the most.

We learn to adapt.
We rebuild.
We learn to love ourselves through it.

In those seasons, we persevere & life changes with us as we become the next version of ourselves.

Even though that chapter ended, I’ll always be grateful for the love & support that helped me build during that season. 💙

Growth can be hard to recognize when you’re living in it every day.

5 years ago, we started with 22 lbs of wax every 6 weeks. Today, we go through 88 lbs.

It’s just wax… but those numbers hold hundreds of appointments, connections, lessons, referrals, & people who trusted Bare Culture enough to keep coming back.

Sometimes we’re so focused on where we’re trying to go that we forget to look for the evidence of how far we’ve already come.

So whatever you’re building, becoming, or working toward- find your own little way to measure the growth.

The evidence of how far you’ve come might be smaller than you expected, but the story behind it is so much bigger.

I took the biggest leap of faith in quitting my corporate job to pursue something I didn’t have a plan for… let alone an idea of what it would become 🫠

At the time, all I knew was that I couldn’t be miserable for another day. That’s not how I wanted to live my life, nor was it how I wanted to contribute to the world.

The decision to leave was a decision to have faith in my purpose and my ability to be well with myself & others.

I had no business experience at all. Just 6 years of waxing experience & the belief that there had to be something more for me.

Turns out, taking the leap was the first step toward what would become one of the best decisions of my life!

We don’t need to have the entire plan figured out before we move. Sometimes knowing that where we are no longer feels right is enough to take the first step.

Trust yourself enough to follow what’s calling you even if you can’t see where it’s leading yet. 💙

2026 was not the year I thought it would be 🙃

Instead of chasing BIG goals, life asked me to slow down, let go, & redefine what growth even means to me.

I’ve been so deep in that transformation that I almost let a HUGE milestone pass without truly honoring it:
Bare Culture turned 5 in May 🎉

& before I start asking what’s next for us, I want to remember what got us here.

So this video is the beginning of a little series taking us down memory lane reflecting on the last five years: the lessons, growth, mission, & everything Bare Culture has become.

Looking back is exactly what we need to feel inspired about where we’re going next.

My answer is usually no & not because I don’t want them to learn.

When it comes to a first time waxing experience, I don’t want someone else’s experience becoming your expectation.

Every body is different.
Every pain tolerance is different.
Every waxing experience is different.

Your friend might flinch, laugh, cry, or say it wasn’t bad at all. None of those reactions can predict what your experience will be.

This is also true for so much more than waxing!

We spend so much time watching other people live that we forget to go live our own lives.

Your life is meant to be lived, not just observed. 💙
