We wanted to share a mix of updates you might like! 💙
We replaced our wax bed mat with one from WAXNESS & it’s such a small detail that has made a HUGE difference in your waxing experience!
I can’t count how many guests have laid down and immediately said, “Omg, your bed is SO soft.”
It’s a reminder that sometimes it’s the smallest upgrades that make the biggest impact on your comfort. 💙
MĀLAMA RITUALS IS BACK IN STOCK 🎉 Everyone’s favorite lotion candle is back in studio for purchase! 🕯️ Get yours at your next appt ☺️
We continue to celebrate community with our entrepreneur sisters! 👯♀️ Sisterhood something we will always value & that’ll never change 🫶🏽 Happy 50th Birthday to Dr. Gaby | Mindfulness Coach & all the other Leo Queens ♌️👑
We’re going to Canada for my birthday next month! 🇨🇦✨
My birthday falls on Labor Day this year & one of my favorite R&B artists will be performing in Vancouver, BC, so you already know I had to make a trip out of it. 😂
Don’t worry… the studio won’t be closed for long! We’ll be away Sept 5–9.
Traveling is one of the things that fills my cup the most, and I’m always intentional about making space for it while also making sure I’m not away from you all for too long.
Work hard & Play Harder. Take the trip. ✈️
I officially met my brand new nephew last month & I am SO in love. 🥹 His name is Nikolas but I call him Big Poppa. 😃
He lives on Maui with my sister so making time to be with them has become incredibly important to me.
Family time will always be sacred. I will die on the hill of loving my Aunty + Mom role. Being present for the people I love is one of the greatest privileges of my life.
My mom turned 60 this month & I’m so grateful I get to celebrate her for another year. 🥹💚
She has been my strength + my rock, and one of the biggest reasons I know how to stand firmly on my own two feet.
So much of the woman I am today was shaped by watching her navigate life with strength, resilience & determination.
My courage comes from her. 🫶🏽
For the past two weeks, I legit thought I was going blind in my left eye. I thought my wax career was OVER.
turns out, stress has caused fluid to develop under my reti
“My friend is interested in getting a wax and wants to come watch me during my appointment. Is that okay?”
My answer is usually no & not because I don’t want them to learn.
When it comes to a first time waxing experience, I don’t want someone else’s experience becoming your expectation.
Every body is different.
Every pain tolerance is different.
Every waxing experience is different.
Your friend might flinch, laugh, cry, or say it wasn’t bad at all. None of those reactions can predict what your experience will be.
This is also true for so much more than waxing!
We spend so much time watching other people live that we forget to go live our own lives.
Your life is meant to be lived, not just observed. 💙
Waxing while on your period is totally fine! All you need to do is insert a tampon, cup, or disc before your wax service. ☺️
Pro Tip: Your period may make your skin more sensitive during your wax so feel free to take an advil or ibuprofen 30 mins before your appt to help alleviate pain. 💊
This is one of my favorite frequently asked questions.
Believe it or not, the physical pain of a Brazilian wax is actually pretty easy to endure. If someone cries, it’s typically because of what they have going on in their life & not because of the wax itself.
I find that a lot of people come in for a wax to help release whatever they’re carrying emotionally. It’s almost as if the wax helps them let go of what’s been bothering them or weighing them down.
The wax appointment creates space to pause & process- making it an all around self-care session. 💙
If you ever notice your waxer patting your bikini area dry with a tissue, here’s why:
For your wax to be as successful as possible, the wax needs to grab the hair at its base so it can be removed from the root. When sweat gets in the way, the wax can separate from the skin, making it more likely for the hair to break instead of being fully removed.
Broken hairs = a less effective wax, quicker regrowth, and that “it feels like I shaved” feeling.
Sweating during your wax is not something we’re judging- it’s just an obstacle we work through to give you the best results possible.
Your body is gonna body.
Your waxers job is to work with it. ✨
When you come in for a wax but leave with ✨emotional support✨
The habit of consistency is what makes waxing easier. Your first wax is always the most uncomfortable because the hair has never been removed from the root. But when you stay on a 4–6 week schedule, every appointment becomes smoother, faster, & far less painful.
When your waxer has magician level distraction skills & your bush mysteriously disappears 🪄✨
I truly love when women choose themselves.
Your first Brazilian wax can symbolize the end of your comfort zone & beginning of something new. It’s a leap of faith with doing something scary & trusting yourself enough to get through it… kind of like a hard breakup.
There’s something about doing brave things that creates the biggest transformations. The moment you decide to choose yourself, you make room to receive what’s next.
I don’t think it’s ever really about the wax. I think it’s about deciding you’re ready for a new chapter. 💙✨
Never skip a wax‼️
Your wax routine works best with a commitment to appointments every 4–6 weeks. Staying consistent means less discomfort during your wax session, finer + sparser hair growth, & smoother results with every visit.
If you’re past the 4–6 week mark, it’s time to schedule your next visit!
