A little late, but this moment was worth taking the time to reflect on. 🤍

June 8th marked both my birthday and one year since graduating beauty school and becoming a licensed cosmetologist. I’ve spent weeks editing this video and trying to figure out what to say because this past year has been filled with so much growth, change, challenges, and blessings that it felt impossible to capture it all in one post.

Then I realized... I don’t have to tell the whole story today.

This is simply a moment to pause and appreciate how far I’ve come.

One year ago, I graduated with a dream and a determination to build a future in an industry I love. Since then, I’ve experienced highs that reminded me why I started, lows that strengthened my faith, and lessons that have helped shape not only the cosmetologist I am becoming, but the woman I am becoming.

To Ms. Miny Abyssinia Washington and everyone at Abyssinia Beauty School, thank you for believing in me, pouring into me, and helping me build the foundation that made this journey possible. Your encouragement and support have meant more than you know.

Looking back, I’m proud of the progress I’ve made—not because everything has been perfect, but because I kept going. And as I step into another year of life and another year in this profession, I’m choosing to trust the process, embrace the journey, and stay open to everything God has in store.

This chapter has taught me that growth isn’t always loud. Sometimes it looks like showing up, learning, persevering, and becoming a little stronger every day.
