What is Copaiba oil?

Cobaiba essential oil is distilled from the oleo-resin of the Copaiba balsam tree that grows in the Amazon forests of Brazil. Rich in Beta-caryophyllene, this essential oil has a therapeutic effect on many different systems, including the nervous system promoting both neuroprotective and soothing effects. This oil is safe to use in all species.

Benefits of Copaiba oil:

Copaiba essential oil is extremely versatile and supports the health of the cardiovascular, immune, digestive, urinary, respiratory, musculoskeletal, and nervous systems. It is a powerful antioxidant. Copaiba helps promote a smooth and healthy integumentary system as well which includes skin, hair, coat, mane, tail, nails, and hooves.

This oil helps promote a healthy inflammatory response, can be used diluted on scrapes and mild cuts, relaxes sore muscles and joints, eases the urinary tract and digestive tract, supports the hepatic system, promotes lymphatic flow, supports the upper and lower respiratory tract and mucous membranes, is a foundation for cellular health (particularly in conjunction with frankincense), and calms the nervous system – all while promoting immune health.

It is emotionally relaxing and can be used to hep soothe and calm anxiousness and decrease stress and feelings of overwhelm. Copaiba eases feelings of tension and promotes a sense of well-being.

How to use Copaiba oil with animals:
- Copaiba oil be diffused, applied topically or given internally.

- For horses, goats and cattle, apply topically directly to the area of interest. Dilute if sensitive. You can also apply along the spine (2-6 drops) or on the skin above the hooves. It can be used in a hoof oil or body spray as well. Orally this can be used 1 drop per 100-200 lbs of body weight (for goats or minis less than 100 lbs, dilute in oil) mixed with feed, on a treat or given as a bolus 1-2 times daily as needed.

- For dogs, diffuse Copaiba for aromatic use and respiratory support. Apply topically at a dilution rate of 1 drop Copaiba to 30-50 drops of carrier oil, then apply 1 drop of the this diluted mixture to the area of interest or by petting along the spine. For internal use only 1 drop per 8-12 hours mixed with wet food or in a capsule topped with olive oil for powerful antioxidant and immune health as well as to sooth e and calm the nervous system.

- For cats, diffusion is preferred. Apply topically at a dilution rate of 1 drop Copaiba per 80-100 drops of carrier oil, then apply 1 drop of this diluted mixture to the area of interest or pet along spine. Internal use not generally indicated with cats, but 1 toothpick drop in a wet food may be used in some cases. Another topical or aromatic option is to mix 3-4 drops in 1 cup of baking soda (mix well, let sit overnight) and sprinkle on your kitty litter.

- For birds, reptiles, chickens and small mammals, diffusion is preferred. Internally, it can be used in drinking water 1 drop per liter of water. Topically, use 1 drop Copaiba,1 tsp carrier oil, and 4 oz water to make a misting spray. Shake well before each use.

Use with Myrrh, Helichrysum, Lavender, Frankincense, or many other essential oils.

After a ton of walking this week I am in serious need of this Deep Blue Stick!!!!!!

Activating a historic space to truly serve community is a journey not an end.

In 2013, some neighborhood residents and community members had an idea that would change Albuquerque -- activate a space that had not been used since the 1970's, and build it for community. Over more than 72 public meetings and hundreds of hours of volunteer efforts, the Rail Yards Market bloomed in 2014 as an interim-use project for the site. Since then, the market has welcomed more than 700,000 visitors to the site, and the City took on the site development from the previous CA developers. In 2018, the market began working with its fiscal sponsor, to update the mission, vision, board, &bylaws of the organization, & become its own certified non-profit. Over 12 public meetings and committees were held to ensure real community voices were included into the refreshed mission.

We're now in our 8th season. Community planning takes time, patience, and true commitment to keep going on the journey, no matter the obstacles. We recognize that the work never stops, and we can always do better. We are excited to see where we'll be in 5 more years at the Rail Yards, and look forward to working with the community and City to ensure this iconic and historic treasure continues to serve our neighbors and surrounding communities.
