Bindingā¦. The final touch that I honestly both despise and look most forward to in quilting. It secures all layers together, and also finalizes the final vibe of each piece. Over the years, Iāve tried solid, patterned, novelty, tie dye- ALL of the styles- but the past few years, I keep finding myself coming back to simple, grounded, neutral ticking stripes. They add texture and warmth, while also pulling together nearly all patterns and colors. I really should be taking more photos of binding š¤£

Choosing a favorite block felt impossible! I am a HUGE fan of stars, and I loved this variation that turned into a large star in this Road Trippin pattern by Mary Burroughs-Mayer with this fun and gorgeous Halloween fabric set from Riley Blake Designs and Art Gallery FabricsĀ® - AGF
This was a really fun one to make because it was for my brother and new sister in law who got married on Halloween Billy Strings bash last year š„° Mike Worrell kelsea hill

So far, my biggest quilt (kind of) was this double sided memory keepsake. It held stories of three sisters, sharing clothing, customizing their own, joining clubs and teams and events together. The bins we thought were going to lend to a King sized quilt was simply too full of memories, and resulted in a double sided Queen quilt!
It was a true honor to pull it all together Brigitte & Brian Bennethum-Pagerly š©µ

Beautiful Blues indeed! Wether gray blues, purple blues, or vintage blues, I truly love them all. In this stack, my fav is a toss up between the blue sawtooth stars made of a grandfatherās clothing and the upcycled vintage quilt - I turned that into a gorgeous quilted jacket for her granddaughter š

I think the post was really about these super fun Sew Along groups you can join, and everyone sews the same block/quilt but usually from afar, sometimes in a small gathering. Iām choosing to highlight this precious moment when our Summer Stitch Society campers really hit their flow, sewing alongside one another š„¹ š be still, my crafty, quilty heart!

I asked my son this morning which is his favorite - and it is one of my favorites too š„° I made this memory quilt of his favorite shirts and my favorite outfits from newborn - about age 6. Each piece has a special story or memory, right down to all the rainbow colors and his favorite shade of pink. š I made this quilt as a surprise on a āroom makeoverā weekend, and Iāll never forget how excited he was to see it all come together.
I like this quilt because it also showcases that memory and celebration quilts donāt have to all be a perfect grid, and they can include really sweet elements - like buttons or ruffles, or this pocket that has a heart emoji tucked inside š¤š¤
