BRING BACK THE HOME BAR
There was a time when a beautifully appointed bar was an essential part of the home—and we think it deserves a comeback.
A home bar creates a sense of occasion. It turns pouring a glass of w**e at the end of the day into a ritual and makes entertaining feel effortless. Whether it’s a dramatic built-in, a sophisticated bar cabinet or an intimate cocktail corner, the best home bars feel as considered as the rest of the home.
This glamorous bar in the entertainment room of the penthouse at Turnberry Place is a perfect example. Designed to be part of the experience rather than simply a place to pour a drink, the bar becomes a destination within the room. Dramatic lighting, rich color, sumptuous furnishings and the sparkling chandelier create an atmosphere that feels more like an intimate private lounge than a traditional home bar.
It’s a reminder that entertaining spaces can—and should—have a little drama.
Think beautiful cabinetry, statement surfaces, warm lighting, reflective finishes, collected glassware and enough personality to make the room memorable.
And a great bar doesn’t have to be reserved for cocktails. Incorporate sparkling water, specialty coffees and zero-proof favorites so the space can be enjoyed any time of day.
Because a home without a bar is just a home, but a home with a beautifully designed bar is an experience.
Here’s to bringing back a little glamour, a little hospitality and the art of entertaining at home.

DON’T LET YOUR CORNERS GO TO WASTE
That empty corner in your home? It might be one of your best design opportunities.
Instead of treating corners as leftover space, give them a purpose. A few of our favorite ways to turn an overlooked corner into a thoughtful design moment:
Create a reading nook — Add a comfortable chair, small side table and beautiful floor lamp for an instant retreat.
Make a statement with art — One oversized piece can give an empty corner presence without adding clutter.
Add a corner shelf — Use vertical space to display books, pottery, collected objects and personal treasures.
Bring in greenery — A sculptural tree or oversized plant adds height, softness and life to the room.
Style a console — A narrow console paired with art, lighting and a few curated accessories creates an intentional vignette.
Create a display niche — Turn an architectural nook into a focal point with lighting, art or a favorite sculptural piece.
Add extra seating — An accent chair, pair of stools or small bench can fill the space beautifully while making the room more functional.
The secret? Don’t fill a corner just because it’s empty. Give it a reason to be there.
Thoughtful design is often less about adding more—and more about making every space feel intentional.
This quiet corner of the primary bedroom proves that even a small, unused space can become a destination. A sculptural chaise, warm floor lamp, petite side table and thoughtfully placed artwork transform it into an inviting spot to read, unwind or simply enjoy a quiet moment at the end of the day.

Creating beautiful spaces, one detail at a time.

Your home is always communicating with you—even when you aren’t consciously listening.
The light coming through a window. The objects sitting on your desk. The colors surrounding you. The way a room flows—or doesn’t. Each detail quietly influences how you feel, think and move through your day.
A cluttered space can create visual noise.
Natural light can invite energy and possibility.
A beautifully designed bedroom can signal that it’s time to slow down and rest.
This is why we believe interior design goes far beyond making a space beautiful. Great design is about creating an environment that supports the way you want to live.
Calm. Inspired. Rested. Productive. Connected.
Your surroundings are already sending you suggestions.
Make sure they’re the ones you want to receive.

MOCHI THE MASCOT WRAPS UP DALLAS 🐾
That’s a wrap on a very successful trip to the Dallas Design District for our favorite four-legged design assistant!
Mochi spent her visit doing what she does best—exploring showrooms, checking out the latest furniture and fabrics, admiring beautiful art and making sure everything received her official stamp of approval. Naturally, she also found time to charm a few new friends along the way.
We’re heading home inspired, energized and full of fresh ideas for upcoming Knudson Interiors projects. There’s nothing quite like stepping away from the computer and experiencing the textures, craftsmanship, scale and details of beautiful pieces in person.
Mochi’s biggest takeaway? Great design should be beautiful, comfortable—and always dog approved. Her favorite stop was dinner at The RH Rooftop restaurant.
Until next time, Dallas!

INTERNATIONAL CHOCOLATE DAY | A COLOR WORTH INDULGING IN
Today we’re celebrating chocolate in a way we know best—through design.
Chocolate brown is having a beautiful moment in interiors, and it’s easy to see why. Rich, warm and sophisticated, this earthy hue brings a sense of comfort, depth and understated luxury to a space.
Think deep cocoa velvet, espresso-stained woods, warm brown leather, chocolate cabinetry, natural stone and sumptuous textiles. Whether used as a dramatic statement or layered through smaller accents, chocolate tones instantly make a room feel grounded and inviting.
One of our favorite things about chocolate brown? Its versatility. Pair it with creamy whites and camel for quiet luxury, muted blush for softness, sage or olive for an organic feel, or deep navy for a classic, tailored look.
And just like the perfect piece of chocolate, sometimes a little indulgence is exactly what a room needs.
Happy International Chocolate Day from Knudson Interiors.
Beautiful spaces should be every bit as delicious as they look.

HOW TO MAKE YOUR BATHROOM FEEL LIKE A LUXURY HOTEL
Some of the details that make a beautiful hotel bathroom feel so polished have very little to do with square footage or expensive finishes. It’s the styling, lighting, organization—and the little things you experience every day.
Here are a few designer tricks to bring that feeling home:
Group toiletries on a tray.
Instead of scattered bottles across the counter, corral your everyday essentials on a beautiful tray. Suddenly, they read as a curated collection rather than clutter.
Put lighting beside your face—not just above it.
Sconces on either side of the mirror create softer, more flattering, even illumination. It’s one of those details you notice every single morning.
Choose individual hooks over one long towel bar.
They feel more intentional, give each towel its own place, and can add a beautiful architectural detail to the wall.
Decant your products.
Pour soaps, lotions, bath salts, and other essentials into simple matching glass bottles and containers. Removing all that packaging instantly quiets the room.
Buy towels as a matching set.
Plush towels in one color create the visual calm we associate with a beautiful hotel. Bonus points for an oversized bath sheet.
Choose one signature scent.
Instead of competing fragrances, select one scent profile and repeat it through hand soap, candles, diffusers, or bath products. Scent is one of the easiest ways to make a room feel memorable.
Hang real art.
Bathrooms deserve art, too. A beautiful photograph, painting, or pair of framed pieces can make the room feel finished rather than purely functional.
Upgrade the trash can.
Yes, the trash can. Skip the plastic bin and choose something that complements the room—woven, metal, wood, stone, or another beautiful material.
The secret to that five-star hotel feeling isn’t necessarily spending more.
It’s eliminating visual clutter, repeating materials, engaging the senses, and making even the most practical details feel intentional.
Luxury is often found in the details.

A great kitchen isn’t about how much you spend. It’s about a handful of measurements most people never think about.
You can choose beautiful stone, custom cabinetry, and luxury appliances—but if the spacing is wrong, the kitchen will never feel quite right.
At Knudson Interiors, we believe the best kitchens are designed around how you actually live.
A few measurements can make all the difference:
Give your island breathing room.
Aim for 42–48 inches of walking space around it, at least 36 inches of countertop depth, and a 12–15 inch overhang for comfortable seating.
Leave landing space beside your range.
Having 12–24 inches of counter space next to the stove—and at least 36 inches of open prep space near the sink—makes cooking easier, safer, and far more enjoyable.
Think about the work triangle.
Your sink, range, and refrigerator should work together. Keeping them approximately 4–9 feet apart helps create a kitchen that flows naturally.
Group appliances by how you use them.
Dishwasher near the sink. Refrigerator near the microwave. Coffee maker near the mugs. Small decisions like these can completely change how efficiently your kitchen functions.
Create zones around your routine.
Coffee station. Snack zone. Prep area. Baking station. A kitchen designed around your habits will always feel better than one designed around looks alone.
Because luxury isn’t just marble countertops and beautiful cabinetry.
Real luxury is a kitchen that works effortlessly.
Beautiful kitchens catch your eye.
Thoughtfully designed kitchens make everyday life better.

Mochi the Mascot does Dallas
A trip to the Dallas Design District isn’t complete without a little inspiration along the way.
While we’re busy sourcing beautiful pieces, exploring showrooms, and gathering ideas for our latest projects, Mochi has her own agenda—stopping to appreciate the local art on her afternoon walk.
Because great design isn’t only found inside a showroom. Sometimes inspiration is waiting right outside the door—in sculpture, architecture, color, texture, and the unexpected details you discover along the way.
And clearly, Mochi knows a good statement piece when she sees one.
Design is everywhere. You just have to notice it.

Your Home Should Be Your Haven
Your home is more than a collection of beautiful rooms. It’s the place where your day begins and ends, where memories are made, and where you should feel completely at ease.
At Knudson Interiors, we believe exceptional design brings together beauty, comfort, and inspiration. A thoughtfully designed home should reflect who you are while creating a sense of calm, warmth, and effortless sophistication.
From the way a room flows to the textures you touch, the lighting that sets the mood, and the meaningful pieces that tell your story—every detail contributes to how your home makes you feel.
Because luxury isn’t simply about having beautiful things. True luxury is creating a home you genuinely love living in.
Your home. Your haven. Beautifully designed.
