Three weeks. Eight pounds. Zero regret.

The photo on the left was before vacation. The photo on the right was after three weeks of making memories with family, eating foods I love, enjoying wine, and taking a break from my normal routine.

Could I see a difference? Absolutely.

But here’s what I didn’t see…

I didn’t see eight pounds of body fat.

What I see is a body holding onto extra water, sodium, inflammation, and fuller glycogen stores after eating differently and moving a little less than usual.

This is exactly why I tell my clients not to let the scale define their progress.

Vacations are meant to be enjoyed—not feared.

Today, I’m back to lifting weights, hitting my protein goal, drinking my water, getting my steps in, and consistent sleep. No detox. No starving myself. No punishment workouts.

Just back to the habits that have worked all along.

One vacation doesn’t ruin your progress. Giving up because you think it did…that’s what keeps people stuck.

This is what sustainable nutrition looks like.

If you’re coming home from vacation feeling discouraged, don’t. Your body is more resilient than you think.

This Oreo Protein McFlurry Fluff has become a staple in our house.

So many people think their metabolism is “broken,” when in reality their body has adapted after years of crash dieting, under-eating, low protein, excessive cardio, and constantly trying to eat less. The good news is your metabolism is adaptable in BOTH directions. With adequate protein, strength training, daily movement, recovery, patience, and consistency, you can improve your energy, muscle mass, body composition, and metabolic output again. Your body is not broken — it needs support, structure, and consistency, not another crash diet. 💪🏼
