These lines around my eyes?
Every one of them is a year I got to live.
Every laugh. Every hard season I made it through.
I’m 57, and I stopped fighting my age.
Now I just take care of the body that carried me here.
Something I wish I’d learned sooner:
- Your gut and your skin are more connected than most of us were ever taught.
- Researchers call it the gut-skin connection, and it’s why I stopped looking at my skin as a surface problem.
So I started on the inside:
- Colostrum with my coffee to support gut health
- Real food instead of packaged everything.
- More water, less sugar.
- A walk every day.
- Bed before midnight.
- Less stress, more rest.
Not to look 30.
To feel good in the skin I’ve earned.

⚠️ Something nobody told me sooner:
Your gut and your skin are more connected than most of us were ever taught.
Researchers call it the gut-skin connection, and it’s why I stopped treating my skin like a surface problem.
So I started on the inside:
1. Warm water with lemon, before anything else
2. This beet juice: 1 beet, 2 carrots, 1 mandarin, a thumb of ginger, a splash of water. Blend, strain, done.
3. Green tea in the afternoon instead of a second coffee
4. Water. So much more water than I used to.
5. Herbal tea at night, my signal to slow down

None of this is magic.
It’s just small habits I actually keep.
Save this for tomorrow morning 🤍
And follow for the rest of my routine.

People always ask what I added to lower my inflammation.
Honestly? The biggest changes came from what I stopped doing. 🤍
- Stopped grabbing ultra-processed snacks “just this once”
- Stopped letting coffee replace breakfast
- Stopped cutting corners on sleep
- Stopped waiting for the perfect workout (a walk counts)
Your body notices the little things you repeat every day.
So don’t ask what’s going to fix you.
Ask what one habit you can stop.
Start there. 🤍

At 55, I found out my husband for 36yrs has been cheating on me.
The same night, I made dinner anyway.
That’s how long I’d been putting everyone else first.
For months I blamed myself.
My body. My age. Everything I thought I’d let go.
Then one morning I realized I wasn’t the one who broke our vows.
I just forgot to keep the ones I made to myself.
So I started keeping them.
One walk. One early night. One day at a time.
Two years later, I don’t recognize the woman in this video.
And I’m not sorry.
Follow me for part 2, the day I finally left 🤍
This was me at 55.
Tired all the time.
Hiding in oversized sweaters.
Telling myself I’d start on Monday. For years.
One night I stopped waiting for Monday.
✨Comment BALANCE and I’ll send you where I started
I didn’t overhaul my whole life.
I picked a few things and refused to skip them:
- A walk every day, even 10 minutes
- Real food, most of the time
- Bed before midnight
- Taking my stress seriously
- Colostrum in my morning coffee to support my gut
- Two berberine gummies before my biggest meal to support healthy metabolism and blood sugar levels
Some days it felt like nothing was changing.
I kept going anyway.
Two years later I’m 57 and I finally feel like myself again.
Not because of one magic thing.
Because I locked in and stayed there.
If you’re in your “I’ll start Monday” era, this is your sign.
Start tonight.
✨Comment BALANCE and I’ll send you the two I take every day 🤍
This is your sign to lock in, not for anyone else, but for yourself.
Because one day you’re going to look back and either be proud that you started or you wish you did.
The truth is, changing your life isn’t always about doing something extreme. It’s about making the small choices every single day,
like choosing the meal that makes you feel good, drinking the water, getting the sleep,
moving your body even when you’re tired and you don’t feel like doing it, taking care of yourself when no one else is watching.
And honestly, that’s the part people don’t talk about the most. The hardest part isn’t knowing what you need to do.
It’s actually doing it when you’re tired, when you’re busy, when you don’t feel motivated.
But those are the moments that matter the most. Start saying no to the things that are keeping you stuck,
and start saying yes to the things that are going to help you become the person you want to be.
You don’t need to change everything overnight, trust me. Just start showing up for yourself,
because your future self is built by the choices you make today. So take care of your body, take care of your health,
and don’t wait for the perfect time. Start now.
