Brella

Building a lifelong reader starts long before a child can read. At Brella, we:
📚 Keep books within reach for independent exploration
📚 Follow children’s interests when choosing stories
📚 Create cozy, inviting spaces that draw children in
📚 Encourage storytelling, even before children can read words
📚 Connect books to real-life experiences and our monthly biomes
📚 Model a genuine love of reading in the classroom

Did you know? We have a Spanish enrichment program that introduces children to language through songs, stories and everyday conversation, building early literacy skills in more than one language!

Introducing our amazing Brella Newport Beach Team! We are so excited to be opening soon with this incredible team of educators who have years of experience in early education and child care. We’ve been onboarding all week and are continuing to get the center ready to welcome families. Join us for a tour to say "hi" and see the space!

Recently, our youngest preschoolers in Lilac Class stepped into the role of chefs, exploring a hands-on baking experience that brought everyday routines to life through play. Using real kitchen tools, the children measured, scooped and poured as they worked together to create their own “muffins,” building confidence and curiosity along the way.

⁣What the children explored:
✨ Measuring, scooping and pouring oats into muffin tins using real kitchen tools.⁣
✨ Experimenting with quantity and comparing “big scoops” and “small scoops.”⁣
✨ Engaging in imaginative play while connecting their work to real life cooking experiences.⁣
✨ Collaborating with peers, sharing materials and talking through their ideas.⁣

Through this playful baking experience, the children combined imagination with practical life skills, discovering that everyday routines can be rich opportunities for learning, creativity and confidence-building. 🧁

⁣Learning Outcomes:
✔️ Language - Communicating ideas and engaging in conversations
✔️ Math - Explored early mathematical concepts by counting, measuring, and comparing quantities.
✔️ Motor - Fine motor skills through pouring, scooping, and controlling small movements.
✔️ Practical Life Skills - Following multiple steps to complete an action

In November, we will be exploring the alpine biome, also known as the alpine tundra. It is found way above the tree line, just below where snow begins. The weather is harsh but many plants and animals have adapted to thrive.

Sometimes we get a little messy.🎨 But this is where the magic happens... creating and fully diving into the moment!

Yes, we use washable paint 😄
