🌽 A gift that continues to nourish us. In Choctaw oral tradition, tanchi (corn in Choctaw) was gifted to our people by Ohoyo-osh Chishba, the Unknown Woman. Her story reminds us of the importance of generosity and the gifts that sustain our people. As a Choctaw artist, I tell stories a little differently. I work with soap instead of paint or canvas, using my art to celebrate the history, culture, and stories that connect me to my people.

Day 16 in is Corn so I’m sharing a little piece of that connection with you. This bar is made of glycerin and goat milk and is scented with what’s called “corn husk”, think of a green sweet fragrance, but without the earthiness.
